Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are new here. We just registered for the Fall Educational Rally in Michigan. We hope to learn a lot before buying an RV. We are planning on leaving Chicago and full-timing before the end of 2016. Hello everyone!
Hail & welcome aboard neighbor, from the SW side of Chicagoland. We still have a few years to go but we really like the crowd 'round these parts and they have made us feel good about our decision to go FT. There's a wealth of RV community knowledge on the forum so feel free to dig in. We plan on attending a rally closer to our kick-off date which we have not set yet as we are still in research mode and trying to figure a workable plan for our situation. For you we can only add...Let the good times roll!
Welcome Kathy and Rich! As Brian said, lots of great folks here with a wealth of information. We attended our first rally with Howard & Linda in 2011. We were at the same point as you, having made the decision to full time but not having a clue otherwise (never owned an RV or drove anything larger than a minivan; H&L were our inspiration that despite our lack of experience, it was still doable). After overcoming a few obstacles, our dream finally came true this past June (although we had an immediate set back when I dislocated my hip for the 3rd time, right after we left the buyer's driveway, so we didn't actually officially get on the road until August).
Enjoy the journey and good luck on getting all the info you can. If possible, also try to attend a few RV shows to get an idea of what's out there and the style and floorplans you like best.

Hi Kathie and Rich, and welcome to the forum! We were also totally unsure of everything and attended a rally in spring of 2014 and realized we can do this! It really seems that each person learns what works for them, and it could be different from what anyone else is doing, but if it works.....then why not! Glad to see another 2016 couple too! That's when we're heading out as well and we're growing in number! Best of luck and take you're time in looking for the RV and working out your plans. You're on a great site for all of the info!

You should consider going to the Fall Rally, as it may help you and Cindi with things to look for when purchasing your rig. The Leelanau Peninnsula is gorgeous that time of year.
Jim, having family in Owen Sound, Ontario... we know the fall is beautiful up there in the north country. We are looking at it, and if we can swing it before the registration closes.... we just might. Unfortunately, "Mr. Murphy" just moved in... again, so we have siphoned off travel funds to cover the needed expenses. I love Jello
Looks like I'll have to get busy selling more stuff on eBay.
