Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Mitch installed a new water pump the other day, and subsequently we do not have any hot water, either on electric or on LP. Is the timing a coincidence, or is it possible he knocked something out or made something loose? What should we be looking for to resolve this? Thanks!

Check your shut off valve positions first, which you have probably already done. Our hot water heater has a small switch on/off switch on it, check for one of those. Check fuses and breakers.

In addition to each valve on the water manifold that distributes the water lines to the different areas, also check the hot water bypass valve and see if it was turned off. If you are getting cold water out of all of the faucets, including the hot water faucets, then I really suspect the hot water bypass valve.
The picture below is of our 2010 Mobile Suites. Look to the right of the water filter housing and you will see a "T" with a red handled valve. In the picture, the valve handle is down, which is the non-bypass setting on our unit. At any rate, go to the valve and turn it opposite of what it is when you see it. Then check your hot water faucets. I learned this the hard way myself.

Yup I have turned my bi pass valve more than once doing things under there then having no hot water. Then the light comes on and I remember to turn the valve.
