Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Not moving, get a park model. Much better for this.

Don't know a thing about the units you are currently looking at but the Keystone lines, like Montana, High Country, etc., have a good 4-season/full time reputation and many include "full time" options. That is the reason I got the one I did.

WHAT UNITS ARE ANY GOOD FOR FULL TIME (ONE LOCATION) LIVING? I also would recommend a park model. There are some really nice ones in the places we are staying now and they are much less expensive than the same features in a moving fifth wheel.

MY INTENTION IS TO SET UP A UNIT WITH AN 18-24 FT WIDE BY 12-14 FT TALL COVER, SCREENED IN FOR THE SPRING/SUMMER AND ADD CLEAR PANELS FOR A SUN ROOM IN THE FALL/WINTER PLUS A DOOR ENTRANCE ...again seen some great examples of this in the community I am living in.

I NEED TO KNOW THE BEST WAY TO HANDLE THE TV, INTERNET, CABLE AND STREAMING VIDEOS. ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS Check out Technomadia's website, but if your not moving I would definitely recommend picking a permanent site where you can get internet via traditional cable. The mobile options are not that great (imho) and a sticks and bricks alternative (which you could do if not moving) would be much better and less expensive.

ANY PROBLEMS WITH BUGS (ANTS ECT) OR CRITTERS (SNAKES ECT) ?We have had bugs for sure...ants, lady bugs, etc. Tradtional remedies work...ant traps, fly swatters, it's not that much worse than in a sticks and bricks

Good luck to you :)
WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE OR DO DIFFERENTLY? My best piece of advice here is to really visual yourself in your future life and then put a plan together to acheive that goal. This looks very different for every person that does it, so be honest about what you want and what you can afford and make it happen.

I would agree a park Model would give you the best bang for the buck
we have one now for our seasonal sight, works out great.

you don't need to spend the extra money for something that is built to travel ( been there done that)

Missed the bug question..

So far in florida.. this is a Ant infested state.. they are everywhere. Monster mounds of ant hills everywhere.. I have some stuff shipped in that is illegal in some states.. not FL. Working ok. if you don't spray.. they are there. And they bite.

Had a tribe in my truck at one time..

Crazy big spiders and roaches too.. Like huge.. spray spray.. spray..We spray our whole site, our car and truck.. inside and out side everything... where we park.

Seen a few snakes too.. Almost stepped on a venomous coral snake coming home late one night.. I watch where I step now..always here.

No se em's will eat you alive by the ocean/brackish water.. One place had me itching crazy for 2 weeks.. I hate these things the worse.. They can make sunset by the water.. a nightmare.

Junkman, your description is right on - that is why we haven't gone to Florida again. To many nice places without all the bugs for the winter.

Keep up the good specific advice. just what I need.
once set up I'll be able to help also. I can make anything that can be fermented. I've also helped design and build a solar house and many other designs. solar water heater booster ect. I have a green thumb and can grow anything, except my corn never seems as good as my neighbors.

I still need to find a Retirement RV Community, please help me find it. even a good private park - hard to find.

There Are Many Fine Retirement RV Communities Out There. I’M Also Looking For A Full Time (Permanent/ Deeded?) Location – On Or Very Near A Lake, Where I Can Garden And Go Golfing Near By. I Need One With In 5O (Prefer <20) Miles Of Clemson Sc, So I Can Be Near My 85 Yr Old In-Laws.

Thank You, Sincerely. Art(Retirein1Place)Belge

IMO your described usage would be more suited to a “park model” RV. They are very popular in parks with seasonal or full time residents especially those catering to the retired crowd.

Here is a link to pictures of all sizes and types.
