Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Here we go...

smile

Whoo hoo, the Sages are on the road after 22 months of hard work and planning. Our first voyage as full timers. I am exhilarated and terrified at the same time. Lots of tears with the goodbyes to my family and friends yesterday. But we have family in NC and Cali. And a whole bunch of new friends I haven't even met yet!! See ya out there. 1st stop Franklin NC.

Awesome!!! Congrats, fellow Class of 2014 graduate!

Will you be anywhere near the Raleigh, NC area? I'm here at least until the end of Oct, probably even Nov.

Make sure to sign up on RVillage and keep your location updated.

LOL Red, fortunately the class of 2019 (2018 if all goes well) hasn't even formed yet. Darn early boomers are gonna take all the good spots before we get there.biggrin

Congrats to the Sages!!

Brian - you don't have to be a boomer to get out there, I'm not. Dale is (HeHe, we have lots of discussions about our generational gap of 7 yrs), but really, it's working, we're working but we are still OUT THERE!!!!

Ruth, I know there are plenty of "non-boomers". It just seems that most of the current crop of new FTers are at or close to being boomers, though a younger demographic is creeping in. No sleight intended.wink We'd go right now if the numbers worked for us. Mr. Murphy keeps throwing up roadblocks. The recent "incident" has already set us back on medical expenses, even though we'll get it back somewhere down the road.. But we are still hopeful. A lot can change in 4 1/2 years.confuse

Every successful report of FTers keeps us motivated. (but not jealous or envious... LOL)

Welcome to the road Sages..........the exhilaration and terror were normal here with me too. I would like to tell you it goes away quickly and for some I am sure it did. But after 6 months on the road, I still have a full measure of both. And that has made it exciting for sure.

There are a lot of goodbyes, but there are a lot of hello's too. For us, we just arrived at Ft. Benning Georgia yesterday and got to have dinner with my baby sister and her wonderful family. We are staying 2 weeks to enjoy them to the fullest, but yet be able to go home to our bed each night. It makes all the work and driving worth it to be able to have this time with them.

We just left Pennsylvania last week to come down after spending a couple months near my husbands family. It has been wonderful to be able to stop, see, and enjoy family. And not to mention how beautiful this country is.

So enjoy and continue to look forward in anticipation of each place and the people that you will be blessed to meet and see along the journey.

Here's to taking the long way home!
Kim

First of all, congratulations to the Sages.  I suspect that it will just get better from here on.
Swing through Colorado Springs sometime.  There's LOTS of things to see here.

 Brian,

We "boomers" need for you young folks to hit the road.  That does a lot for the diversity of campers that one gets to meet.

(Plus, there are certain jobs that us "boomers" don't like doing that would be easier for the young folks to do.)
