Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

RV / Truck scales - weighing your stuff

Fyi- folks.. Bought 10 - 20,000lb portable digital truck scales today. Plan on selling off 6 of them.. keeping 4.

All certified 3/2013 .. and used by county / state police.

Most are welcome to get with me , anytime, and borrow the 4 I will have. I will be in FL all winter.. heading up the east coast come spring. I don't plan to do it for money. If you carry them , get your stuff on them, and return them..clean.. you are welcome to them..

Will post the 6 forsale soon, in the forsale section.. if I am not banned before that..cry

Got a deal I could not refuse..Had to pull the trigger on them..

Damn FREIGHTQUOTE using ROADRUNNER TRANSPORTATION lost my pallet of scales.. More likly they stole them..

I didn't insure them either, since they where not breakable.. Nobody said anything if they got lost or stolen.. Great I'm out 2k.. And still have no scales..

I file complaints with everyone on this.. I will take my money out of their butts..

Hopefully you paid with a Credit Card.....................Then you can do a Credit Card Charge Back with the card company.

For the freight cost.. not the scales? I had them picked up on my tab.. at the customer site in AL..

I could do it maybe.. But it's not the guy who sold me them's fault..And he would take the hit.. Karma will get me, if I did it. I'm afraid I will only get my freight cost back plus $60 ( .10 / lb )

It will cost these companies far more in the long run.. already hitting the share holders and CEO's.. BBB , Yelp, complaint websites will be next.. will take a bit though.. Little busy trying to get out of Vegas right now..lol

Both Freight Quote and Road Runner should have what is called a PRO Number on your shipment. Using that number, they can track exactly where the pallet moved in transit and should be able to track down the last driver who handled the pallet. Then they can start checking at different stops to see where it may have been dropped by mistake.

I worked in the shipping industry many years and if you stay on both the carrier and the broker 1 -2 time per day, they most likely will find where it was taken off the truck, but if you let it drop, so will they. If you are also very polite but firm, you can even get allot of help and support in finding your shipment, but filing complaints will get you no where and do little or no damage in the freight industry against such large brokers and carriers.

I'll agree with Rick and Janice on this one.  From my experience, BBB is practically useless as an option for making a complaint.  Besides, how many have actually ever looked at one "rating" and made a decision based on that.

In fact, I think I read something recently where a company was suing an individual for a "bad review" on some review site.

I'd say to follow their (Rick and Janice's) advice about firmly going to the shipper with requests for the location of the shipment.

Have to agree with Rick & Janice  and Terry... squeaky wheel gets the grease so to speak. Been my experience many times. Registering complaints only causes them to dig in further. Firm persistence with customer service will "git 'er dun".

Sent a email everyday..

Ive been here before.. some companies will actually argue their case on complaint websites..

I take it steps farther.. facebook.. shareholder.. ceo.. nationwide craiglists ads, attorney generals office, Irs, FBI fraud , .... I tell my true store , and provide my opinion..

None of it will get a penny back.. But I guarantee it will cost them more than the $1800 I have in those.. just to respond to the allegations..

Besides... it makes me feel better, anyways..I keep a journal on this deal.. and always record all my phone calls.
