Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

So far we have only towed it several times to the Galveston coast (approx. 50 miles & truck & trailer did great with the Equalizer 4 point WD hitch .
We have spent a total of 51 days in it from October (fall flounder run) thru January 12th .
Have had 0 issues with this trailer & the floor plan is Great for me, the wife & our very spoiled rotten 10 yr. old MINI-Snauzer .
Wife loves the extra large shower .
My job takes me to places like Oklahoma ,North Dakota ,Wyoming ,Colorado ,Regina Canada but don't get to spend lots of time Sight seeing.
5 more years & I will have more than enough time to finally stop & look at the beautiful country.
First of all, it sounds like you are well on your way with planning. Welcome to the RV Dreams, so if you still have questions about either the RV's or the RV lifestyle, be sure and ask your questions. There are a lot of knowledgeable folks here that are willing to help, answer questions, and just encourage others in general.
Glad to have you as part of the family.
Terry

Welcome from another Texan! When we had a house, we lived just south of Houston, about halfway between Houston and Galveston. There are lots of friendly people here to help you in your planning for your future.
Welcome Mike, you've joined a great group of fellow "dreamers". Like you, we are roughly 5 years(current estimate) from hitting the road FT(full time) Gives us lots of time to figure things out. Probably still make some rookie mistakes but then what would we talk and laugh about later around the campfire Let the good times roll
Thanks for the welcome Ya'll
But after reading several post I beginning to think an Upgrade will be in order for full time RV .
Was looking & 5th wheels but my wife has bad back & climbing the steep stairs would be issues for her .
Anyone on here FT in a 31 ft. TT?
Who knows maybe in the next 5 yrs. someone will come up with the bathroom on a flat level surface.
Can't wait for the actually 4 1/2 yrs. now to past so we can hit the road .
Little bit nervous about selling the home & going FT but No mortgage, no property taxes, makes it a pretty easy decision .
Sure as time gets closer I will have lots of questions .
I am a do it yourselfer so I am not threatened by the routine maintenance required in the RV industry .
Happy Trails
Mike D.
With regards to getting a 31-foot travel trailer, I can't help much there as far as using it for long-term or full-time use. However, when we had a 26-foot fifth wheel, after a bit over a week, we were ready to get home and out of it. However, our biggest problem was that the furniture in it was becoming uncomfortable, not so much the size of the trailer. So, you might consider the possibilities of changing furniture if it became necessary. Shoot, even in our 38-foot fifth wheel, we replaced all the furniture in one way or another.
I would suggest spending time in models that pique your interest and pretend to be fixing meals, taking a shower, using the bathroom facilities, and other activities to get an idea if you think it might cramp you a bit.
The only other thing I'd mention is that with that long of a travel trailer, I would seriously consider making sure it has some kind of rollers on the back and underneath, just in case one encountered a dip in the road and the rear of the trailer wanted to slide on the roadway. On one 26-foot travel trailer we had, I managed to NOT THINK and damaged the rear steps on it when I chose a turnoff that included a sharper "dip" off the roadway and caused the steps to contact the roadway.
Good luck in your research and planning, and whatever you do, have fun doing it.
Terry
