Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Our first RV was a 2001 Trail Lite Hybrid bumper dragger, purchased in 2004; sold in 2012. We've learned a few things, are a few years older (62 and 67) and we plan on pulling it to natl forests, parks, and some private RV Parks around the USA the next 5 yrs or more. Well pull it with a 2004 Ford Diesel 3/4 ton truck with camper shell.
This is a list of features we'd like on our next travel trailer. Are there other features that are important to you we may not have considered? We live in Texas. Ideas on where to look? Brands we shd consider? What Price range are we looking at if we find one like this? THANKS!
It has been a LONG time since I checked out travel trailers, so I may not be of much help. However, with your list of criteria, I'd venture that a travel trailer under 30 feet may not include all you have asked for, especially considering a "sit-in" tub. Also, you've not mentioned where in Texas you live, so I can't give advice as to where to look. If you happen to be in the New Braunfels area, a friend of ours worked at Evergreen RV (I think that's the name.) Her name is Melinda King and she is a very helpful person. She used to be the factory rep for DRV Suites, so she is very knowledgeable about RV's. If you are anywhere near there, I'd suggest trying to get in touch with her and see if she can guide you to a suitable trailer.

Thanks for the reply. I hope to hear from owners of bumper draggers, too. DH is also considering a 5th wheel but this wd mean having to remove the camper shell, find a place to put it, and put it back on every time. Doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Other thoughts?
OMG! Thanks for the suggestion... but no... thanks. (I took your post literally, but if you were joshing me, you got me!)
We actually saw a couple of RV's with larger tubs, but they didn't have some of the other features. I guess the most important are the slideout(s) and large rear window with recliners for reading, relaxing, and watching tv.
Do you think this is the right place to post about features and brands? We're newbies at this. I see there are a lot of full-timers on this website, so I wonder if maybe most have more luxurious (expensive) rigs than we can afford. Maybe I should post somewhere that is more specific for "bumper draggers". What do you think?
you are fine here.......we got people who travel in pop-ups & tents!!!...............everyone here is more than happy to help you thru your search.....its not what you live in , but more about how you do it!!!

I would suggest going to the www.pplmotorhomes.com/travelt/travel-trailers.php and browsing through alot of the rigs they have , that would give you a better idea of what floorplans and features go with each brand.
after browsing thru them you can search for a private seller or a dealer closer to you...
