Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

ford experts--is this a 'run like the wind' scenario or worth investigating?

I am oh so casually looking at bigger trucks for sale, in order to get a feel for what we might be spending in a year or so to upgrade.

I like fords and have had three 7.3 engines over the past 20 (holy cow!) years and if I could find a 450 or 550  4x4 crew cab with low miles in great shape I'd be really tempted to go for it.

tonight I ran across this truck and thought it might be good to learn from.

here is the ad, the truck had the original engine replaced by ford and now is reported to run like a top.

Kind if sound fishy the way the ad reads.  I would be careful...lots of questionable information.  I have mine for sale here only after I sell the toy hauler.  Low miles and never a problem,  same year and set up for hauling larger rig.  See my classified ad for details and PM if interested or have any questions.

doesn't sound bad but a couple of glaring questions. Why did he take off the flat bed and replace it with a normal "new" bed along with what looks like a new bumper (without the back up warning sensors). He says the truck has never been in an accident but that is the first thing I thought might have happened when I read the article, bad accident to the rear 1/2 of the truck and the bed and bumper needed replaced. Hopefully that is a wrong assumption on my part and this one is a "diamond in the rough".
