Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hello from the Texas Gulf Coast We are new to this forum but not to camping or RVing . We tent camped for many years as our two boys grew up, we family camped & I and my sons done a lot of camping with our scout troop. I was an assistant Scout Master for a number of years with the local scout troops and really enjoyed camping & working with the boys. That has now all ended both sons have families of their own now. Well that is a bit of old history.
My wife Sandra & I are both retired, Sandra from an airlines company & I from the Texas Oilfield. We are both Christians, We began RVing in 1997 with a 27ft 5th wheel no slides & a F250 Ford Power Stroke. Then in 2003 we upgraded to a 30ft Forest River Sierra 5th wheel. We do not fulltime however since retiring we usually take a two to three month trip each year. Our most memorial ones were to Alaska in 2005 and to Maine & Nova Scotia in 2011 on that trip we accomplished one of our gold's finally making it to all 50 States, admittedly one we did not drive to used Sandra's fly benefit's for that trip.
We stayed in Texas in 2013 no long trips. We worked as Oil Field Gate Guards for a few months south of San Antonio. Hope to take a trip this year to Calif. maybe I am having a few health issues will have to see what the tests show. Well that is a short run down of our RVing. Hope to see some of you down the road
We're currently in the Austin area and being originally from Northern states I get a kick out of all the Texas businesses with Billy Bob in the name. Wishing you well with the health issues.
Sherry

Hello. Welcome to the forum. You have lots of RV experience that we can learn from. There is a forum topic on gate guarding that is updated quite often.
Welcome Billy Bob and Sandra from another Texan, although we only spend the winter in our state any more since we're full timers. I guess you could call us Fire Birds, the opposite from Snow Birds. I saw that name on another forum and thought it fit us.
