Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Thanks to Greg & Cori/BySeaandbyLand to offer to host. You mentioned 3pm on Tues? The first gathering of the rally is from 2 - 5p, so maybe we could have a mini get-together of the "graduates" before that, maybe at 1p? I'm really looking forward to meeting all of you as we have formed our own special bond, but I also want to meet everyone else too, and there is over 100 of us?
What do you think? We're up for what works for the majority.
Anything will work for us, but I just want to make sure we don't get in the way of Howard and Linda's registration schedule. We also need to consider that people will be arriving at different times throughout the day. Additionally, it may take some several hours just to get parked! (It's a joke, peeps!!!) Besides, it may be difficult to break up the Class of 2014 once we get going because of our overwhelming excitement! There will be some down time during the rally, so maybe we can just do something impromptu during one of those down times? Should we wait until then to put something in jello? (I kinda like 'saying' that!) ;)
I would also like to ensure that NONE of the seasoned attendees are offended by the gathering of the Class of 2014. After all, we ALL have a kindred spirit!!! I believe our purpose is just to see how many are actually hitting the road this year... newbies, that is. And, besides, we treasure and admire all of you who left before us!!! Can't wait to meet everyone!!!
I definitely agree with what MarySunshine said. I would not want anyone to feel left out or uncomfortable. I like the idea of a quick intro before everything gets going though as with so many people and so much going on, it might get difficult later. Maybe nothing really organized, just a stop-by-site-XXX for a put the name with the face kind of thing?

You would think with so many" Newbie's" there would be Valet parking.......or at least several Insurance adjusters on hand!!!!

Love, love, LOVE this idea! 1pm before the "official" start works for us, as we will be arriving the day before. I agree whatever we do should not interfere with any official rally activities.
Bill and I will be on site #209, so if anyone wants to drop by as you arrive, thats good too!
We leave in 48 days to drive down! It will be our first BIG trip with our new home!
Valet parking!!! Love it!! And will probably need it!!! Hoping, however, we won't need the insurance adjusters!!
Like your idea Debbie about a "impromptu" stop by before things get started. Always easier (at least for me) putting names to faces before an event starts. All welcome!! I'll look into the pavilion to see if we can reserve.
I have another idea... I wonder if Howard will have a list for all of us with our name, forum name, and site number? Seems like that would be very helpful. Or could that be a breach of "security" for some reason?
This will be our first big trip in our new home, too. Love the idea of valet parking, we will still be very new at backing into a site--site #222, please stop by and meet us :)

Is most everyone going to be arriving on Monday the 28th? If so, maybe it would be better to have our little meet-up then? Maybe at 7pm at Greg & Cori's site (I have to see if they'll be there and what their number is)? What do you all think? Monday evening or Tues around 1p? Other ideas?
To keep everyone informed about our little Class of 2014 Graduate impromptu meet-n-greet, I created a group page on RVillage.com called: Class of 2014 RV-Dreams Graduates. Sounds like most folks will be at the rally a couple days early, so maybe we'll have a little 1 hr get-together on Monday or Tuesday, April 28 or 29. Details TBD. Feel free to join and offer any suggestions.
If you haven't been to this new site yet, it will provide a great way for all of us to keep in touch if we like while we're out on the road, or planning to be. Thanks to all who put this site together!
Looking forward to seeing you all at the rally and hopefully out on the road one day!
We'll catch up with everyone on Tuesday....save a spot at the campfire for us!!! Unfortunately we won't get there until then....it's a long trek from Dallas where we'll picking up our new home on Saturday and hitting the road on Sunday!! We'll defintely need a ****tail upon arrival!!!
