Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

The First Sign of Spring? Hopefully!!

No, it's not flowers blooming or birds chirping, it was an actual sighting of a 5th wheel on the highway!!!  I understand, not a big deal for those living the dream....or even living in a warmer climate, but on my way to work today (in Pennyslvania) I passed a 5th wheel--on the road; it has to be a sign that spring is coming, right!!

Just a little history--we started exploring the potential of our adventure in June and every day on my way to work, I would pass tons of motorhomes, TT's and 5th wheels.  Once we made the decision to 'go for this dream' (about a month later) my envy grew every day as I continued passing these homes on wheels as I commuted to work.   Well, the weather got colder, snow got deeper and the passing of these vehicles bascially became extinct!  So, it was a fantastic start to the day with this 5th wheel sighting.  My imagination kicked in, the conversations to myself began again ("soon enough, this will be us--and I won't be on my way to work!!") and the coundown of days was renewed!!

As you can see, it doesn't take much to keep me excited these days!!

Thanks for the Flashback! I used to do the same thing on the way to work. Look they're going to have fun without us. When you've been living this lifestyle for awhile you eventually take it for granted. I sometimes force myself to think about the past so that I can appreciate the present...especially on Monday mornings. smile

Cheers!

If anything needs to be said about the real Spring; Had a 78 degree day yesterday. many bird chirping and in the evening heard a chorus of frogs. Then came the excitement about 8:30 PM; Thunderstorms, winds in the 50+ MPH range and some areas had straight line wind of 128MPH; even a couple of circular rotating winds that the meteorologists (????) don't like to call tornadoes. I love the warmer temperatures but not enthused the strong severe storms that scare the bejeepers out of some of us.

BUT ANY HOW: COME ON SPRING!

Here in Wisconsin we were teased with upper 30's Wednesday only to get 10-12" of snow Thursday night into Friday morning. Extended forecast is teens during the day and below 0 at night. We are seeing a few RV's on the road but they are commercial drivers taking them to dealers or RV shows. No FT'ers venturing around up here in this weather!
