Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Question for those of you who went to Tampa RV show

DH and I so wanted to go to the Tampa RV show this past January, but work got in the way.

I am planning ahead for next year to be sure and go.  My question is, I see that they allow dogs.  How does

this work?  Can our pup go with us on a leash into the 5th wheels and MH?

Thanks!

It will be so crowded in some units that you will have problems moving around. We had our dog in a dog stroller and just parked it outside the door of units we wanted to go in.

We went on Saturday and Sunday and we saw lots of pups. Most were smaller, but some larger. I didn't see any pups going into the various units though. There were a TON of dogs in strollers. More dogs in strollers than kids!!

We didn't see any dogs inside the RV's.

So the dogs just sat outside tied up when their owners went in to look around?

To be honest we didn't see many dogs there at all. And the ones we did see one owner stayed outside while the other went inside. To be honest the way it should be in my opinion. Space is pretty tight with that many people roaming around. We left our dog home so we could tour freely.

In all the years we’ve been going to RV shows, including Tampa for a long time, I don’t recall anyone bringing a pet into the rigs.

Thank you for the clarification. Sounds like it best to leave our pup at home.
Btw, to you people who have been to many RV shows, what is the best ones out there to attend?
I particularly want to see more RV's rated for full time.

On the eastern side:  Hershey and Tampa are the two primo shows.  In some people’s opinion Tampa is a bit better.  But both are very large and appropriate for what you are looking for.

As to “Rated for full-time?”  That’s pretty much opinion, IMO. There is no industry standard for that rating.  Only manufactures marketing lines.  You really have to start doing research for yourself and this is a very good site to get that kind of information and opinions.  But you have to decide what meets your specific needs, travel and cost criteria.  It depends.

Enjoy the hunt!

On Edit: Be sure and read Howard and Linda's original blog posts on how they came to pick their rig.  It is a very good place to start for perspective.

We attended the Hershey and the Tamps show. Both were good but we felt the Tampa show was better.

We also enjoyed the Tampa show more than the Hersey show. This was the first show we have been to that allowed dogs. It is also the first time we saw dogs in strollers.

Yeah and really they shouldn't. It's a brand new rig that someone is going to buy and not "ALL" people like cats or dogs running around in their rig. Once you buy it and own it............................Do what you wish.

Again just an opinion on a public forum.
