Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Have some Sentimental attachment to this old Classic TravelMaster. My brother and I acquired this unit in October of 1993; being 5 year old with 9,000 miles. Unfortnately; he could not drive it anymore in 2002; it sat until the Fall of 2004. I spent about 2K$'s on it and put it back in service in the Spring of 2005.
Ever since my health took a turn for the worse it has sat here since August of 2012. I have started it about every 2-3 months; but haven't driven anywhere other than the local store once or twice. Since this weather has changed been mulling over renovating and spending some $$$$'s rather than replacing it.
It needs tires; 9 years this April. Engine belts; coolant hoses and coolant; /lube/oil change/filters; transmission service; cap/rotor/wires/sparkplugs. Carb kit and exhaust manifold gaskets; roof seams resealed. Overhead inside repair; carpet replaced in traffic areas; and carpet replaced with vinyl in front of the commode. hook the 12v water pump back in the water lines. May need another house type refridgerator this one seems to be losing it's ability to freeze food. Buy a generator, 5/6 KW.
The future will replace the burner of the furnace with and electric heat unit. hot water heater spark control board and propane delivery tube needs replaced. Replace the converter with an inverter.
I did the brakes in Oct. 2009; rear Wheel cylinders; brake shoes; front brake pads; packed bearings so they should be good. Have a 12/2011 under hood battery; Use a glass/mat battery from a wheel chair for the house unit. Mentioned this for referance; my memory is not always good.
I would like to complete this project by next Mid-November and go spend the cold months where it's warmer/hotter. I may be biting off more than i can chew and swallow; but I don't know where i can get a decent rig for around $3,500-4K$'s. Sure wished I was younger or had more finances!

Sounds like a doable project if you're handy, and, much less expensive that buying another unit. I'm sure our mechanically inclined members will advice you. Good luck.
