Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
The house sold to our first offer and we have passed the the inspection negotiations and option period. Realtor says it's a little smoother sailing now. But all that stuff is still here! Gotta get serious now!!!!!!!!!
The local charities can hardly wait to see your truck roll in. I don't know how many trips we made to a couple of good organizations in our area.
We used a local version of an "e-bay" type web site. People almost fought over the good stuff. Cash in hand and they had to take it away themselves. I could control how much I sold each day by the number of listings I posted. I did very little work and over ten thousand rolled in. I had really good junk!
Good luck with your stuff and congrats on the quick sale.

Congratulations, sounds like you can breathe pretty easy now!! Well, expect for the fact that you're going to be running around like a crazy person!! Hope the cleanout of the house goes smoothly.
We had family come through and take what they wanted which got rid of lots of stuff. A few truckloads to local charties and a few more to the dump and poof it was gone! ......OK it took days but it gets done. Congrats on the sale!
Scott
Congrats El Rojo! We're so excited for you! I hope ours goes that smoothly and quickly! We're also right behind you. See you at the April Rally! Let us know if you start a blog, I'd sure love to read about those just starting out as we will be in your shoes, hopefully, very soon! Go Class of 2014!!!!!
Congratulations!! Very excited for you guys and glad the sales process has been smooth sailing so far. Hopefully purging the remainder of your stuff goes just at easy!!! Hope to follow in your footsteps soon!! Guessing you'll be long gone by the time we head back down to pick up our coach?
Thanks everyone. I guess the work starts now but doing something has to be better than sitting around waiting on all the paper work "contracts" to be signed.
We didn't sign up early enough for the spring rally, but we are on the waiting list.
Looks like Mike is going to have a lot of HaPpy DaNcE partners this year!
Red, as you get into the starting gate, remember to not chomp down too hard on that bit. We don't want to read about you first RV adventure at the dentist Here's to a smooth transition to your new adventure!!!
Congrats Red!!! All that work you have ahead of you will help to pass the time more quickly and you'll be on the road before you know it. Hope to see you guys on that road as you pass through BC on your way to AK This summer.
Congratulations on the sale! It's encouraging to read that many folks from different areas of the country are able to sell their homes for good offers, and I SURE hope that trend continues for a long while .
Ditto what Debbie said - keep us posted as you pull out of the driveway! Always valuable to learn from those who forge ahead .
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Red's so happy, blah, blah, blah. And then the voices in my head... My mom says, if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all. Well it ain't like me to keep my mouth shut so teach me those dance steps again.
Red, your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to empty your house and keep very little. Nothing larger than a bread box can go with you. Your choice to ruin your financial future with that depreciating asset and die a pauper was yours alone. (Not that the rest of us didn't encourage). As you travel the land (enjoying every freaking minute) remember these words, which have one meaning for those in S&B but two meanings for those of us in tiny mobile houses, "you can't take it with you". Please save a spot for us in the poor house. We are right behind you.
This message won't self destruct because that would be, like totally hard on your computer and not very neighborly of me.

Congratulations. The time will go by so quickly while you are busy downsizing. This is an exciting time that you will have stories to tell for a long time.

Hang on Mark, your turns coming!
Congrats on the sale ! The clean out is tough to get going on, but gets easier as time progresses and as the cabinets get full in the rig.

Here's suggestion for Howard & Linda at the rallys or for any gathering of RVers.... Comedy night. Mark, since the moderators cutout the inside joke(thankfully) only a few of us know what you are alluding to. This is just too funny. My sides hurt from laughing today.
Congratulations!!! I sure hope it's contagious! Ours has been on the market for almost 3 months! Have a potential buyer coming Thursday. Most of the stuff we have gotten rid of so far has gone to the DAV. Almost all the proceeds go to our vets, unlike some charities that have a rich CEO. And they came and picked up most of it. Now I just run a few things out to them when I have a fair amount. I know you are excited! Maybe we'll see you on the road soon!
Congrats!!! If I had to do it all over again, we would have started with the garage, that makes the rest of getting rid of stuff seem easy
Not the way it worked here. cleaned out the garage so that all the junk from the rest of the house had another place to be located!!! Now have to clean out the garage again!!!

That's the same thing I heard from my wife, but you are a little more politically correct. LOL
