Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Handed a big Detour sign and Synchronicity

Gosh, I hate when I type a lot and my butterfingers make it all go away! Wonder where those posts go and if they just hang out there in the ether? We have been full-timing since May and loving almost every moment. Well not so much the breakdowns! 😄 But We've been handed a big ole Detour sign so we're flexing and adapting. We had planned to tour the country in our big well loved Trilogy and go to Rallys and workamp and meet up with old and new friends but we were handed our sign. No, not the "Here's your sign stupid!" Thank you very much. The synchronicity begins with Jesse's adventurous retired sister exploring the idea of the full time lifestyle about a month ago. While talking with her we found online what looked like a sweet used Fleetwood Jamboree at a great price near her. She took her mechanic son to go see it and he was very impressed. It has a solar battery charger, generator, low mileage, garaged, etc. As she thought further about the idea, she decided full timing wasn't for her. Earlier this month we stopped at Jojoba Hills SKP Co-op Resort near Temecula, CA and fell in love with it. We put our name on the waiting list for a lot. We're number 8 waiting for an opening. Thought it would be a good place to winter and if we changed our minds the most we'd lose is a hundred bucks. We were handed our sign last week and only had a tiny inkling it might be coming. So, in talking it thru and deciding what we wanted to do we decided we'd like to park our big ole Trilogy someplace as home and travel in something smaller. In the meantime the price on the Jamboree dropped by almost 10 grand so we made a deal and are on our way in our 'tow car' that we don't 'that we don't tow to pick it up! Synchronicity! On our way to Tucson yesterday to leave the Trilogy and our cat for safekeeping, we got a call from Jojoba that a lot had become available and did we want it. Yes! Synchronicity! So this is just a reminder that even handed our signs and planning as much as we all do we can adjust and still love and enjoy this wonderful life and that life moves in very mysterious ways. We'll continue to travel and looking forward to seeing old and new friends. Stay well, Sherry & Jesse

Sounds like wonderful news, and it's great how everything just fell right into place, how the universe just lined up, or as you said "synchronicity." All the best of luck and enjoyment. BTW, would you consider selling the Trilogy and truck?

Sorry ....I got lost right around the first sign you got.....I think this means you will be staying put more often than you originally planned and that you have a different rv now than when you started....regardless

Good Luck in whatever journey you take ....or don't take....blankstare

Hey Cheryl,

I'd have asked the same question if I had seen our post by someone else but nope!

Greg and Jean, sorry I lost you. Yes, now we'll have two RV's, one parked and one to roam in.

WOW! Well, hey, you go where the signs lead you. I assume we will not be meeting you then at the April rally?
Best wishes in your new way of full-timing! It sounds like an exciting plan.

Yes, Mike, we know you approved so that certainly helped us make a long-distance deal with an unknown person. But she had met him and he didn't know us either. We did an online QuickPay deposit, something the owner didn't know existed and have his written guarantee to refund the deposit by the 30th if the unit doesn't pass muster.

Now thinking about what we need to know because the high will be 22 tomorrow when we do our inspection and 2-3" of snow predicted there tonight. Ewwwwww. (Sorry Mike!) 😄

Let us know when you have the new home back here in the Tucson area!

Safe travels to Colorado and stay warm, I'm sure you don't want to hear how sunny and nice it was in Tucson today. Make sure Jesse has a tarp to lay on if he's going to be looking under the rig and some good gloves and a hat!! Sounds like similar weather we had during our inspection of our DRV last December in Oklahoma, Dale was really dreading getting on the roof in that weather, tell Jesse to to be careful.

I know this has been a big detour for you but so glad you will still be traveling down the road together and am so thankful things worked out perfectly for you to park the Trilogy at Jojoba Hills.

Thanks all. We're sitting here in Bernalillo, New Mexico in our new (old) Class C, a Fleetwood Jamboree after getting up this morning at minus 3 degrees to pick it up. Did an inspection yesterday, got the title and a 30 day tags so we wanted to hit the road early today and get out of cold country. Our seller was very nervous and wanted us to wait another day. Took some 5 MPH driving down snow packed hills to the highway but it all went smoothly. We're very tired after a lot of 5 am mornings, a lotta driving and strange beds. We'll pass out tonight but have to stay up until 9 pm to take the pup out for her last walk or we'll be up at 5 in the morning again. 😄

This is a very, very nice Class C but I miss our home (Trilogy) a lot. This will be simpler traveling but oh my, the difference in mileage between this and our Dually while towing the Trilogy is interesting. We're getting 7-8 gas mpg vs 12-14 diesel mpg. We could also use a lot of the things we donated to fill our this rig, but oh well, Goodwill here we come.

Cozy and warm in our little home and tomorrow I start driving which is the point of the whole detour thing. I want to be able to do it all and give Jesse a break when he wants it, but he's a guy type person and we all know they don't ask for much! 😄

Mike, thought of you in that cold and H & L in -15 and commiserated in my thoughts.

Sherry

Sherry - before you hit Goodwill, let us know what you need, we're just getting ready for another round of purging. In fact, we probably donated a few things you could have used for the new travel rig in the last month or three!!

Safe travels, can't wait to see the new rig with Sherry driving!!!!!

Awesome that everything fell into place for y'all.  So your home base (Trilogy) will be in California and you will explore in the Jamboree?  As you know we are in Prescott Valley, AZ and are cooling our heels while we wait to list our house this spring, if we can do anything to help don't hesitate to shoot us a PM.

Congratulations!  Sounds wonderful.  What kind of things are you needing?  I might have a few things if you are coming through Benson. Your situation sounds like something we were thinking of doing.  I guess we might have to take a trip to Jojoba Hills and check it out. Safe travels.

Our RV Dreams family is the BEST! Since we/mostly I, way overpacked the Trilogy, we're good for bedding, towels, cookware, mugs, wine glasses (just sayin' 😄) electric grill for outside cooking, charcoal grill because we still have our Trager. Need to pick up some short queen fitted sheets, hot pads, flatware, a 30 amp surge protector, water regulator and filter and a vacuum is all I can think of right now. I threw away the spread and pillows that were in here but brought a spare down comforter that we were so glad to have last night! We had a new spare flat screen TV in storage from our house sale so we had stopped and picked that up because the seller removed the one from here. He left the under counter coffee maker, and all the sewer hose and connectors and water hoses, power cord and extension.

We have a spare 50 amp cord if someone wants it?

Sherry - how long is the spare 50 amp cord? I know we could use one sometimes, we've had just a couple of times when we needed a short extension, but not sure we have enough room / weight capacity left in the storage areas for a long 50 Amp cord.

Ruth, Jesse is in the shower but it's a regular, heavy 50 amp cord. Text me is you want it. We'll be back in your area tomorrow. Right now at a cool little park in Deming, NM with dinner in the micro convection oven, we'll see how that works! We are the dirtiest rig in the park! So need a mobile RV wash and wax but I'll look that up in Tucson.
