Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Lipson Chicken Coop. " Where the flock gathers"

My name is Patti, and my husband and I just found his forum.  We are Part-timers who have a goal of being Full-timers in the next year.  We currently live in Kansas but are looking to find someplace warmer during the winter.  We travel with our three parrots and our grown children nicknamed our RV ( thus title of post).

We did not know if we would like RVing so our first RV was a 1998 Safari Serengetti.  After our first trip to Florida we were hooked.  Two years ago when we decided we definitely wanted to be FTimers we started looking for something a little larger with slides.  We feel in love with Powerhouse Coaches.  They are custom and built on Volvo semi chassis.  Think they are referred to as Class 8's.  In 2012 we sold our Safari yawn and bought our Powerhousewink.  Our PH was originally purchased new by some people who did desert racing in Nevada.

We do not plan on doing any racing, but we are very excited to visit all those places in the US and Canada on our bucket list.  Our adult children do not get the allure, but our grandson does.

We look forward to getting to know some of you.  If you see us on the road, feel free to say hi.

Welcome aboard....................Very nice to meet you. Awesome rig. I had the same idea way back. I bought a 379 Peterbilt and was going to do a conversion then realized too much work. Then I bought a '93 MCI 102C3 with plans to do a conversion figuring it would be easier starting with a coach shell then realized too much work and the dollars would add up quickly. I wanted to start to enjoy using the unit not building for 10 years. That's when I bought the '99 Fleetwood American Dream 40' diesel pusher. Done, built, ready to go.........................and a lot cheaper than my build would have been. Still would have liked the Pete' to cruise around in.

Anyways...............Good to see you joined up.

Greetings Earthlings! I travel with a couple birds too - 2 sun conures. My dear Sunny, who I was fortunate enough to have for 28 years recently passed away. She traveled with us all over the country, camping from coast to coast several times. She loved camping more than we do. I don't think I will ever get over her loss.

What kinds of parrots do you have? We kept Sunny fully fledged so she could fly anywhere she liked and could get herself out of trouble if need be, though we were very protective of her and wary of raptors. It's important to have a bird who always comes when called if you are going to let them fly free. People would always ask, "Aren't you afraid she will fly away?" We would reply, "If you had a dog for over 20 years would you be afraid it would run off one day?" People who are not owned by birds don't understand how smart, loyal and how rich and varied their personalities are. How about you guys? Do you fly your birds? We've got a little under 5 yrs before we head out full-time, in a much more modest rig than your sweet mansion on wheels. Glad to have you here.

Here's our dear departed Sunny doing her favorite activity, hiking the forest. She later had to bathe in the ice cold stream below.

Here's little Skittles. She's the offspring of a red factor, so will have lots more red/orange than Sunny had once she loses her baby feathers:

And here's Baby, a rescue bird with lots of yellow.

We actually have 3 feathered kids that travel with us.  Rosco our Africaan Grey is 19 years old and loves to be his daddies co-pilot when he is driving.  We adopted him at 3 months so he haso been with us a long time.  Our other two babies are rescues.  Tango is a sun conure and is missing one foot.  She Was originally my mothers baby and became ours fulltime when mom passed.  We are guessing she is around 12 years old.  She does not like men as I think she was abused by one.  So she tolerates Ed, but is basically my baby.  Our youngest is a monk parrot and also a rescue baby.  She is a smart little one and loves to play.   They love road trips and travel so well.  We do have them clipped, but are out pretty much whenever we are in the RV.  They will fly around the RV.  We took what would have been the sleeper cabin in the rv and made it into their bedroom.  They are very spoiled.

If I can figure out how to add pictures I will add some of our babies.  Maybe one of these days we will meet up with you and we can exchange stories of how our feathered ones boss us around.

Ed and Patti
