Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Cindi is visiting her father in Texas this week. Her father(an ex FT RVer) took her to a local RV dealer and they toured some Class A DP's(his recommendation for us) and a couple of 5ers(where we are leaning... or so I thought.) Last night she tells me on the phone "...oh you have to see this Allegro Bus and this Winnebago Journey." After a brief conversation I was able to figure out that she had seen a couple of the 42 foot rigs. My response was, "You realize we aren't going for another 6 years according to my estimate and 8 or 9 years according to yours."
"But they are awesome and by then they'll be in our budget."
She had a point, but now DP's are back "on", not that it's a bad thing... We still have lots of time to make a final determination of our needs for the FT lifestyle we envision. At least I can see her mind working the numbers.... YEAH!!!!

The really important thing is that Cindi is as excited as you are. When both partners are excited, the odds for success and happiness rise exponentially. Good Luck.

I picked her from the Ohare Airport last night and on the way home we had a great conversation about RV's, workamping, and our "plan". Apparently it took her father's "second opinion" to convince her that the numbers I have run on the 5-6 year plan will work and even sooner if she goes back to work(I know she's aching to so fingers crossed). Her father workamped in Yellowstone each summer for 7 years and absolutely loved it... so naturely Cindi has started thinking about this too. I'm okay with it, but I think I'm like Howard, not sure I want to be tied down to one spot for that long.(I'll try anything once)
Now I have to work up a strategy for FT in a MH vs a 5er. I am sure some budget numbers will vary, maintenance, insurance and fuel come to mind. Ahhh, what fun
