Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Just looked at our Forecast for tomorrow (12/13/13) in Quartzsite, Brilliant Sunshine!!! Wishing all the RV Dreams family brilliant sunshine for 2014!! Not sure we've ever had a New Year's Eve Day with brilliant sunshine before, we are so looking forward to it
Today we were reflecting on the fact that one year ago today (12/30/12) we signed the papers on our 2010 DRV Mobile Suites in Elk City OK after a 3 day delay of getting there due to snow, wind, ice, snow, more snow, etc. 2013 was a huge year of change for us personally and we know many of you are getting ready to start the same journey. We wish you a year of brilliant sunshine, hoping many of you do not encounter as many obstacles and challenges that we encountered. However, we wish you joy in the journey and hoping that for those of you still stuck in the colder, snowier, wetter climates that your 2014 ends with Brilliant Sunshine!!
it is around 40 here with Brilliant sun! Tommorrow is suppose to be about 50 and sunny then the cold blast comes back with only the 30's for high on Friday! Come on Spring! Happy nrew year to all! PIEERE

About 60 and sunny here in Hesperia CA and the nights are above freezing. We intend to celebrate New Years on Eastern Time, 9PM here. I am happy the days are getting longer again. Tomorrow will be 33 seconds longer than today.

Yep,,, Happy New Years to all of you!! 2013 was our first full year on the road and was very enjoyable and a leaning experience. Here's to hoping 2014 is the same!!
It's on a cooling trend here in Florida. Supposed to be 70 tomorrow and then 77 on Thursday.

Thanks for providing a great example that despite challenges it can be done :)
Noticed several Northwest natives on this thread. For us webfooted natives the sun and warmth at Christmas is a little "weird". But a very wonderful weird. I think I will be able to adjust. "Think I'll go out and sit in the sun" is not a phrase we got to use 10 months out of the year.
I believe I like this whole retirement thing.....a lot.

At This time of year I think a lot about how blessed I am. I think it is a function of age. Not maturity because that word sounds so grown up and I refuse to go there. Career and business plans haven't gone quite like I planned. Finances weren't much better. Health hasn't been perfect but I wouldn't trade this hernia or the tooth problem or the DWs knee replacements or cataracts surgery for a heart attack (I have had two), so I can't complain about health.
With the purchase of our trailer, we are on the cusp of full timing, which is the center piece of the master plan. What I am saying is that we have had our challenges but we weathered those without loss and in reflection, I feel that I have been blessed beyond what I deserve. In fact, wealthy in many ways. I have a stable job that pays well and I believe the hard work and long hours are a lesson to prepare me to enjoy retirement. I believe they build character and certainly reinstate the can do attitude I enjoyed while in the military. I can't retire and become a slug. I must have purpose and interaction with my community. I believe I was blessed with you all and the RV community to give me that purpose.
When I consider the challenges that many face during these times, I wonder if I am lucky or wise. When I consider the tribulations that Mike and Pieere have faced, I respect their ability to win in the face do adversity. To go forward with a positive outlook and share that with us. What wonderful and diverse group we are.
2013 was not without its challenges. 2014 will certainly teach us more. Shall we all prosper in 2014.
