Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

External fuel tank

Just completed installing a 50 gal external fuel tank. Sure will be nice to have enough fuel to cruise past the lower priced fuel and need to fuel at the most expensive within 500 miles. Just kidding I hope, with a little planning, should be able to take advantage of cheaper fuel.

I think the best part will be not having to start looking for accessible fuel locations every 200 to 250 miles.

yippee!

Good for you. Yep, with just a little planning and the mobile version of GasBuddy.com we’ve saved a bunch of money.  Also, the aux tank eliminates the “gotta get fuel today” every day of travel for those like us who don’t mind traveling more than 200 miles a day.  We enjoyed ours in both our trucks very much.  Top of the list of “good to have” items, IMO; especially on the Alaska and some parts of Canada trips.  Takes all the worry out of the planning.

I just added a 90 gallon aux tank with tool box. It should give me 1200 to 1500 mile range if I fill it up. Before I only had 200 mile range in windy/uphill conditions. I was just like Cowdog353 when I was looking accessible fuel locations with a 40' 5th wheel.
