Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Posted this on my Facebook page tonight, "The Stars are Brightly Shining" a phrase from a favorite Christmas song that came to mind tonight as we stepped outside of the RV in Quartzsite AZ. Boondocking for the Christmas season this year anticipating a very simple, quiet Christmas. Absolutely beautiful sky tonight reminding us of the beauty and magnificence of creation.
Hard to believe a year ago we were flying to Dallas for Family Christmas celebration then heading to OK to visit our kids / grandkids and signing paperwork on our pre-owned DRV Mobile Suites from Rolling Retreats in Elk City OK on Dec. 30th and meeting Terry & Jo in person in OKC. What a year it has been! Buying our 5'ver, truck ordering debacle, finding a perfect used truck, getting the rig home with several delays and cancelling one of our favorite art shows, prepping the house, selling the house in a whirlwind bidders war, getting on the road, becoming SD residents, truck upgrade in Colorado that ended with needing to evacuate due to flooding, finally getting to California 3 weeks late and cancelling yet another art show, but now, at the one year mark of our last flyaway Christmas vist to family in TX/OK, we're in Quartzsite AZ, boondockers paradise and already loving the quiet, peaceful, non-stressed atmosphere.
Merry Christmas RV Dreams friends, thanks for all the info, encouragement, words of wisdom and laughs during 2013!! This is a year we never want to repeat, but at the same time we have learned so much, grown as a couple and individuals and have fully embraced the full time RV lifestyle well before retirement and are truly loving it and living life without any regrets!!

Bill and I are excited and anxious to get on the road this year! So many changes coming! We both want what all you already full-timers have - time and peace and freedom!
We are looking forward to the April rally so we can finally put faces to names!
Merry Christmas Ruth and Dale! Thanks for your post, it is a good reminder that all this craziness (we are where you were last year) will be over and we will be able to look back on it from the reality of our full-time RV life next year! Merry Christmas to everyone, and thank you all for the warmth and support you provide on this forum. We are also looking forward to meeting many of you at the rally in April.
Jo

You have no idea how much I agonized over things after you had been advised by me with regards to coaches, trucks, and other stuff and then began to experience such hardships. However, after I thought it over, I realized that you were getting valuable lessons in your first year that might actually be beneficial. Now, it is wonderful to see that you are experiencing the "better" part of RV'ing. Along those lines, I am really looking forward to retirement and moving to the Colorado Springs area. Mountaindale Cabins and RV Resort is well away from the city, and begin away from the city is what I yearn to have again.
Take a look at the uncluttered (and unlit by light pollution) night sky and see the beauty and vastness of the stars and know that Jo and I wish that your future will be as bright and lovely.
God bless you both.
Terry

Please believe me when I say this, we have never once thought anything bad of the advice you provided. You may have provided advice, opinions, etc., so did many other people on this forum, but when it comes right down to it, we made our own choices and honestly we really like both our truck and our DRV. We just had a few little challenges that we had never anticipated, but then again, who has made this transition without a few challenges??
Merry Christmas to you and Jo, we'll be in OK visiting the Grandtwins over their spring break, hope to maybe catch up with you and Jo at that time!!

That can probably be arranged without any trouble. We won't retire until July 1 and then likely won't leave the Oklahoma City area until around July 7. We are scheduled to arrive at Mountaindale on July 14. That will allow us a week to make our way to Colorado Springs with a stop-over in my old home town to visit with family.
