Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I have been having numerous problems with my Atwood Leveling System since I purchased my 2006 Allegro motorhome in that year. Every jack has been replaced at least once. This last problem involved one of my jacks dropping to the road while I was driving. Luckily it didn't catch on anything in the road since I drove for several miles with it down. Sue Noyes at Atwood has offered to replace mine with a new system. I am wondering if anyone has tried the new system. I am now just manually driving up on blocks which is working fairly well and not using the Atwood system. In checking with several RV techs they have questioned whether or not it is worth it to spend the money to replace the system considering the age and miles on my RV, 68,000. The new system would be around $1200 plus labor. Do you have any suggestions? Do you have any information about the new system and how well it works?
Sue, we had the very same problem you have. I don't know what you have done since this is a December post and I just ran across it, but I can tell you that we replaced our system with the new Atwood system and would definitely do it again. We have had NO failures since the new system was installed. Our extended warranty paid a portion of the cost, but we still paid more than what Sue Noyes has quoted you, so she must have good records on your problems. Good luck!
