Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

I would like to track the states we visit when we begin our FT adventure in January.  I've read about a brass map that has a hole in each state outline to be filled with a "jewel".  Does anyone know where I might find one?  I've searched the internet and only found other folks looking for the same item.

THANKS!

we had a really small one attached to our motorcycle that was about 3" x 4". You attached it with double sided tape and you glued the jewels on.

Here is a link to what I am talking about. States Map

All the larger ones I have seen are stickers (no "brass" ones) where you apply the outline of the U.S.A. on your RV or other surface and then stick the states into their appropriate place once you "earn" that state. These you can purchase at about any RV dealer and a lot of campgrounds have them in their stores too.

Thanks Phil, that will work very nicely! Lucky Mike, the states' mineral idea is interesting.

I need to check out the on-line version too!

Now the question is: what are the RULES that apply to marking a state as having been visited?

IMO states can only be added if you camped in that state, just driving thru without stopping doesn't count, you have to visit the state, not pass thru.

Everyone needs to come up with their own rules on when to add a state and not expect others to follow the same rules. We sleep in the state before we put it on the map, others are happy to drive through, others want a couple weeks, others want to do some activity like visit the capital or something a bit more personal. Like so much else in life and RVing, don't force your way on others and we will all get along.
