Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Introducing ourselves.

Hi this is Mike & Jane Sweeney. We have been viewing and learning from your sight for about 6 mos. now. Intension was in 8 to 10 years when retired we would go full timing. Because of 60 hour work weeks we had only been out in class C's three times, but we loved it. I wintered over in Rhode Island in 40' 5ver in 91. That was an experience. Circumstances have changed both physically and financially, so we are getting ready to full time right away. House is up for sale, sold one of the cars so far. Will pick up -  truck and 5ver next week. We had already been looking and decided they had to be clean, but would not try for new. Preferred combination worked well together. Though not as new as wanted we are getting 2003 F350 diesel dually and 2007 NU WA Discover America 329RSB model.

Thanks, The Sweeney's.

Welcome and wishing you luck that your house sells quickly so you can get on the road. Sounds like you have a nice RV/truck set-up. New is nice but with used, you don't have to become depressed with that first scratch or dent or so I always tell myself not to mention that you don't take the hit of several thousands of dollar in depreciation since on the road, there are so many other places to spend any extra money you can save.

Welcome, I'm glad for you that you have been able to shorter your term. 10 years is a long way to go. I wish I could go tomorrow but like you we've been able to leave 3 years earlier 2015 will be our departure time. Wish you good luck and fun for your next adventure.

Jean

Welcome to the forum and thanks for your 5th wheel status.  Ur story is similar to mine.   Over a year ago I bought both a used Ford truck and a 2005 5th wheel.  I wanted a good clean 5th wheel.  An older 5th wheel is good cause the previous owners worked out the kinks.  I went static permanent which means I still have a full time job.  Now I need to set a date when I can quit my job and travel through the states.  Congrats on your 5th wheel purchase.

Congrats and welcome! We are a little over 15 months now FTing and loving it. Right now we are still static until the project I am working on for my company completes next year so we are wintering in the Catskills in NY. We are hoping to go full time on the road the later part of next year but love the ability to hook up and move to different camps every few months.

Good luck and safe travels!

Les and Sue
