Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Not too late I hope

Hi my name Betty and my husband is Jim. WE will close on our house on Friday and will pick up our fifth wheel as soon as the funds are released. I started reading this site about a year ago and got the bug. Where the" hope not too late" comes from the fact I am 72 and my husband is 76. we have traveled and camped with our horses in a living quarter horse trailer for several years, but not full time. we have gone all over the country spending the winter I AZ. a couple of times. It has not been that hard getting rid of all the things in the house, but when I sold my horse that I have had for 18 years it almost broke my heart. Most of you friends are our ridding buddies and will miss them, but hope to make new ones as we hit the road.

Hi Betty, welcome! Oh, I can soooo relate to your heartbreak of selling your horse! I rescued a premarin foal 5 years ago and just sold him last month in anticipation of hitting the road in the spring. He was my baby and the fulfillment of a lifelong dream to own a horse, so it was a hard decision to give him up. It helps to know that the young woman who now owns him loves him as much as I did and they are just great together. I don't believe it is EVER too late! This life is truly a daring adventure (was that Eleanor Roosevelt?), so follow your dreams and hit the road! What's the worst, if you decide it's not working out you can always settle back down in one location. We put our house on the market in January (yikes is that really only two months away??) and hope to be on the road by the end of spring. Best of luck in your travels, hope to meet you along the way.
Jo

Hi Betty:)
Congratulations on your adventure! My heart hurts to hear about your horse. Our middle daughter rode while we lived in OK and even I grew to love some of the stable horses where she rode at. They are beautiful animals with wonderful personalities.

We've been living full time a month tomorrow and I would say that this is the easiest place to make a friend! I was amazed at the RV lifestyle our first weekend. It's not like living in a neighborhood at all. Everyone is very friendly and quick to offer advice and even offer meal. You'll make as many friends as you want to have!

Safe travels!!
