Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Newbie with lots of questions

Hi I am new here been reading for a while and decided to post. I am in the market for a new or newer tt or 5th wheel that is between 26-30'. I am so unsure of what brands to look at I must stay less than 50,000. I am a solo camper and will be most time. I own a house boat that I live on for about 4 months a year the rest I will be in the rv. I currently live in 94 Winnie class c that stays in a 50m radius of home. I have been to a couple of shows but well I left more confused and frustrated. I live in a area where bigger is better the last show I went to the smallest they had was 35'.  I like to travel in cooler weather I spend a few weeks a year North west (lil snow but below freezing). I know the floor plans I prefer (no booths or back kitchens) I know I would like 4 season or polar package.

The RV I have is a  hand me down so I did no research and I feel almost like a new Rver. I must stay small because I like a lot of state and core parks that  are older and can not fit a huge rig, Any ideas is great

You didn't say where you're currently living but if you are buying used I would look within the RV community rather than shows or dealers.  There is a separate forum here on buying RVs and there may be someone in your area with options.  In addition to this community there is also Escapees and Family Motor Coach and a few others.  I'm confident that someone from the community who has been on the road for extended periods of time would be the best person to buy a used rig from.  They would also most likely spend as much time as you need to get familiar with the rig and be available to answer questions after the sale.

Good luck with your next adventure - the house boat sounds so cool!!

Have you checked these out: Arctic Fox

They look pretty nice and get good reviews.

We spent quite a bit of time researching this as well. We plan to be full-timers in the spring as soon as the house sells. My husband loves to ski, so we will likely be spending some time in cold weather. We found that the only two RVs that were truly guaranteed for cold weather were Excel and Arctic Fox. We have a deposit on an Arctic Fox 32-5M. The Excel's are pretty nice too, but out of our league financially.

Hi!  We purchased a 2013 Keystone Cougar last year and spent our first time out living 6 months in the mountains of Utah.  Temps got down to low teens at night and we did fine with our 333MKS model with polar package.  It is longer than what you had in mind at 38' but price was well below 50,000.  It has the center kitchen with island and we lived quite comfortably in it for 6 months.  Also has the full size bathroom/shower off the bedroom.  You might check it out.  Kate

I heard good things about the Arctic Fox from a fellow truck camper who bought one.
