Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I was planning on boondocking at a BLM campground, but don't know the status.... web searching isn't turning up much, except for the BLM "contingency plans" if the shut down happens... I may wander on over, and see, but, notice how they shut down all the stuff important to us, but none of the stuff important to Them?
Thanks Mike. I wonder if they have put chains across the road to keep us out? If not, perhaps it's game. I was hoping for some relief from paying for campsites, and something other than casinos and Walmart. I noticed a LOT of chemtrail planes flying the weekend of the shut down, they sure haven't cut funding for that!
you can be fined and or jailed if caught in there........I posted earlier where they have already done it and its all over the news , their doing it all over they will hand you a fine

I am studying my maps now, looking for options. No Nevada state parks along my route, which I want to stick to, due to the lack of steep grades. It's gonna have to be casinos and Walmarts, and private campgrounds.

Jane - what route are you looking at? Maybe some others can provide some alternate suggestions. Did you check out freecampsites.net? We are at a county park this week with FHU's for less than what most commercial campgrounds in California charge, and it's really, really quiet here, only 4 sites occupied.
Hey guys, I am at the original destination, Walker Lake, BLM, and I am not the only RV here. And people are boating on the lake, and doing photography, driving around, like business as usual. It's very quiet, not too many here, just a few. It's usually $4-6 a day, but I am not sure if anyone is here to collect it, due to the "shut down"? It's nice, a big lake in the middle of the desert, ramadas, picnic tables and fire pits, but no hook ups. Outhouse type toilets, no showers. Some "non-potable" water. Getting Verizon 4G strong, no Sprint at all. Not sure how long I will stay, maybe til the weekend, when the rest of society gets off work.
Yes, that's it. It is administered by BLM, and the payment envelopes are printed with U.S. Dept. of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management. There are 2 big, fancy Class A's, a 5th wheel, a travel trailer, and people on boats. We'll see if anyone official come around. I'm not sure how long I will stay, maybe through the weekend? Got enough water I think.
