Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

solar material list, where I bought them and the cost (from Cheng at NC rally)

My two panel system is a result of following Andy Baird's instruction  http://www.andybaird.com/Eureka/pages/solar.htm

I bought Two batteries from Amazon (2*$264 = $528, gives 12V and 250 Amh),  and all other materials from AmSolar:

 - Pre configured system including 1 solar panel, controller, cables  ($555)
 - One extra solar panel kit ($299)
 - TwoTilt bar set ($35 each)
 - cable box for wiring through the air conditioning Optional $60
 - inverter is $150 - $300 I think -  inherited mine from the previous RV owner.
 - Sealant ($10)

So, materials are about $1700 ( $528 + $(555+299+2*35+60+ 300 + 10 )    Installation and wiring was quoted over $1000 by AmSolar.  My local contractor quoted $600.   Hope this helps!

[ My needs are just charging laptop and cell phones.  So I would consider the Goal Zero portable system that Gina showed, had I not already done the current system.]
