Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
...now we have questions:) Last night we spent our first night in our NEW HOME at the dealers camp ground. We've came across a few issues that they'll address on Monday before delivering to our site for us. We're very pleased with it! It has a few upgrades and improvements we love, the headboard, TV plug on the outside to the left of the door with electric plug beside it, the kitchen faucet is a single with pull out sprayer (hoping that connects to a dishwasher:) a small cabinet above the toilet and another small outdoor storage under the bed.
1. Is there a way to stabilize the shaking when John walks around or is that the new normal?
2. We upgraded the water filter for the built in one. Is the water hose filter better than the container style?
3. Do you line your floor vents (when not in use) to prevent them from collecting dirt?
I tried to post some pics, but it doesn't allow me to post from files only URL's. Not sure how to do that!
Any advise or tips appreciated:)

First of all, I created a thread up in the "Guidelines" category about using a photo hosting site for pictures. You will find it at this link. Guidelines Regarding Embedding Photos into Forum Posts. The instructions that I wrote are using Photobucket as a photo hosting site. It is a free site, so it doesn't cost you until you get lots of photos on there. The main thing to say about posting photos is to be sure and not post large photos onto Photobucket if you are going to then be posting those to the forums. If a photo is too large, it forces the entire forum page to widen to the point that one has to scroll back and forth to even read the text, let alone see all of the photos.
Stabilizing can be helped with a number of things. Make sure you chock the wheels (we use one of those roto-chock thingies) as well as lower your stabilizer/leveling jacks. Some have also carried extra "screw jacks" that can be placed under the frame near the wheels to help. Last, but not least is the use of one of those tripods under the pin box of the trailer.
I can't really answer to the water filter question as we've not used a filter. The water in the mobile home park where we currently are is good clear and clean city water.
Haven't covered the floor vents, although it might not be a bad idea, especially if one has a tendency to drop small parts or hardware.
Congratulations on the Cedar Creek. Hope you get many years of enjoyment from it.
Terry

Dana, We bought inexpensive white furnace filters at Walmart for the very same purpose. Just unscrew the floor vents and put them in. Now if we could just remember where we tucked them...guessing we'll buy another pack! 😄
Can't help you with the stabilizing, our rig is as solid as a rock. The only thing I feel is someone coming in the outside steps.
Enjoy your beautiful new rig.

John is wondering about more outdoor lighting. Is there any good options for motion lights that could be mounted?
The W/D worked very well!!
We also noticed a "hole" that goes through to the slider tracks under the carpet for the bedroom slider. The lights were out and I noticed light coming through. We haven't taken time to inspect the other sliders. Is this common? What can be used to insulate these areas?
What do you do with the sink covers when they aren't covering the sink? They just seem to take up counter space.
Oh one other upgrade they FR included was a second gray tank!! One for the galley and one for the laundry:)

Our Mobile Suites came with sink covers. However, we have heard of some RV's having an issue where the sink dropped after losing a seal at the counter top. For that reason, we took our covers off and leave them off. We DEFINITELY NEVER travel with them in place. Jo just laid them down flat in the cabinet area on the bottom shelf under the sinks and put things on top of them.

Regarding the motion sensitive lights, we bought one at Camping World that Dale installed fairly easily. LOVE IT!! We're not good at remembering to turn on lights when we leave to go out to dinner or run errands in the evening and I really like not having to fumble for the keys in the dark. We've never had any issues with uninvited visitors, but it's nice for the peace of mind. We did have a jack rabbit set it off one evening.
Dana, the RV Stabilizer System would work very well for you, as for the slide outs, the older RVs needed more support, the newer ones don't need the support they are built a lot stronger than the older ones.
Plus I have 4 slide outs on mine and I really don't walk around in the slideouts, well maybe a little bit LOL!!
