Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

The wife (Sharlene) and I have been dreaming about “most-timing” for about 6 years. In 2005 we sold our home and purchased our first fifth wheel trailer while we were both still working. We quickly traded that one for a larger 2005 Jayco Designer 35 CLQS.  After an accident (I fell out of a tree – it’s a long story for later) and long recovery, we sold the Designer and bought another ‘land-locked’ home. We have lived there since we both retired in 2009. We have often talked about the free and easy lifestyle we experienced living in our RV.  We met great people and saw some great places.  Early this year we started transporting RVs from factories to dealers and we have a great time seeing more country and meeting more folks. We finally decided buy another 5er and recently finalized a deal on a 2013 Jayco Eagle Premier 343 RKTS. We are looking forward to the adventures on the horizon.

Once I found the RV-Dreams site, I have been reading all the posts. WOW! Sure sounds like a great community. We’re hoping we can attend a rally and put faces to names.

Welcome. We totally understand missing that "free and easy lifestyle". We have came back to a house twice now and I think we have finally learned our lesson especially getting older and not wanting to spend all of our time and money on a house and yard. This website really is the most laid back and non-judgmental that I have experienced which makes it low stress like the lifestyle itself.

Budd and Sharlene,

Welcome to the RV Dreams forums.  Since you've been reading a bit, you already know the quality "family" that makes up the forum's community.  Glad to have you as a part of it.  Feel free to ask questions as that is how we all learn and we all learn from each other.  Even the mistakes are a lesson, so now we all know to avoid being up in trees.  Can't wait to hear that story.

As for being judgmental, I think that is reserved to the administrators and the two moderators, of whom I am one.  It is pretty much a very polite community and the only topics to avoid are religion and politics.  We don't mind the occasional "prayers are with you" and "God bless you," but discussions of doctrines and such are strictly forbidden.

We are looking forward to reading your questions and comments.  As you aren't "new" to RV'ing, I'm sure that you already have observed things that would be a benefit to the community.

Terry

Welcome Bud and Charlene,

Can totally relate to your love of this lifestyle and to your love of Pinnacles. That was my number one choice before we found our Trilogy.

So happy to hear your back is doing better (it must be if you're driving long distances delivering rigs).

Sherry

Welcome! Bud and Sharlene! Let me start by saying you have found the friendliest and bestest RV forum on the internet; IMHO! I live quite stationary in my Class C motorhome and traveled a bit before my health took a turn. I have been sitting in one spot for about 13 months; getting some health care and have contemplated about getting into an apartment; but have stayed in the RV hoping for a change to get back to traveling and work camping. I had been doing this since the summer of 1998 and had been bitten by the RV Bug which gets in your blood.

Thanks for the welcomes! We look forward to finding some 'warmer air' this winter and leaving the snow shovel and wood pile behind. I forgot to mention Maggie, our chocolate lab, who travels with us.

Be safe.

Welcome to the site and I envy you for the beautiful state you leave in. We fish the snake river in Swan valley down to Rexburg every year and love it.
