Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We've been using this site to plan our trips and know what weather we might encounter. Hadn't really thought about it being something to share but when talking to a couple at our RV park last weekend we mentioned it. They had never heard of it and since they live in Reno and are frequently crossing Donner Pass they were excited to add a new tool to their online research. So, I thought I'd share it here.
The road trip planner allows you to input starting / ending destinations with planned departure time and gives you weather, warnings, forecast, etc. for your route. You can enter future dates, 2-5 days out if you're trying to determine when is the best time to depart or if you need to stay put while a weather system passes.
We'll be starting our first long trip, not to mention our first ever trip as full-timers, in two weeks, and this site will be very useful. I've already saved it to our 'favorites'. Thanks!
Sherry - you were actually one of the Dreamers I was thinking about when I posted this. Praying for safe travels as you head east on I-90, it's a very "iffy" time of year to be headed across all those passes. Stay safe!!
I just checked out the site and think we will use it after the winter. Thanks. Yes, be careful on 90 E. There are many road closures due to snow and I understand that Rapid City is expecting snow accumulations for the weekend. Drive safe.
