Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I'm exhausted, the house is a mess, it's raining off and on...but we ARE moving into our Aviator! Closing later this week on the loft. I will NEVER accumulate so many "treasures" again!!! What a waste of money! Well...long enough rest, back to sorting, boxing and more sore muscles. :)
When I moved into my first 25' travel trailer, it was from a 325 sq ft inlaw unit; I still had to get rid of 2/3s of my stuff! Then, it was from the 25' TT to the 26' Class A; got rid of 1/4 of my stuff. Do I miss any of it? Not really. As for nic-nacks, I just have a few cute candle holders, which are utilitarian when dry camping, and have artsy'd up the place with some wall hangings and throw rugs. You know, the traditional nomads have some of the most luxurious handicrafts, all utilitarian, like saddle bags. So everything that I get that is necessary, like towels, rugs, kitchen stuff, I just pick the prettiest, no need for extraneous treasures. Good luck Grams!
I'm thinking ill just take it all with me. I'll get a large 5vr to live in and I'll pull that. I'll get a 53 foot moving van for the DW to pull with all my stuff in it. Yeah, that's the ticket!

Congratulations! We are just getting started after accepting an offer yesterday. Now just need to get through all the inspections and appraisal so we can close. Hoping to close by 11/22 but it is nerve wracking waiting on results of each step.

Good luck!! We went through this in the early summer, it's not fun but the end result is so worth it.
And oh yeah, we're still purging. In fact today Dale pulled everything out of one closet and our floor, bed, table, counters, are covered with "stuff" as he is sorting and re-organizing with more purging.
MarkS, we sorta did what you suggested. Jesse says we tried to cram a 3-bdrm house into our 5th wheel! We've been purging for the last 4 months along the road. A fellow host laughingly said yesterday that you two sell things off to lighten your load then boxes keep getting delivered! My new boots don't count (they are sooo cute!) but we "needed" our propane fire pit and a generator!
We all live and learn what we need for full-timing and, in our case, it's probably less than we think.
Sherry
