Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Well it's been January since I've posted. Me and my boyfriend were first looking at a Trilogy then got introduced to a DRV and fell in love. Well I didn't get a DRV (YET!) but I did get something and I did get a truck. The DRV will come maybe in 2 years, we've decided to save up the majority of it and then maybe take out a small loan for the rest. One of the assistant spreadmans where I work was selling his truck and trailer. He is an older gentleman and takes extraordinary care of all his equipment.
Me and my boyfriend bought off him his 1999 King of the Road. It's 34 foot with 3 slide outs and is quite roomy on the inside. Very nice on the inside. Washer & Dryer (which was very important for us). I'm going to miss the crap out of my dishwasher. I HATE dishes.
We also bought off him his 2000 F350 Short Bed with a 7.3 in it. Which I was super excited about. It's got a little over 200k miles on it but it's in great condition, no major mechanical failures and the injectors were just replaced last year. No rust! I'm in love with it.
The best part about buying off him is we were able to pay him over the course of this job. When we got half down he gave me the truck to take and we just finished paying him off last week. We'll move in Oct 15th and he'll move out. We'll be keeping the camper in the same place in the same spot until this job is over. Then it'll be onto the next job.
I'll get pictures of it all when we move in. It is really a nice little trailer. He's put new carpet in it (used to be green shag!) and it is much easier to care for which is good considering I have 4 ferrets and a 75lb dog!
We aren't giving up on the DRV. I believe that we will definitely get one perhaps in 2 more jobs, so 2 more years.
