Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We currently live in Louisiana, but we are officially full-timers now. We sold our home in February after having it leased since October 2008. We became work campers after leaving our "real jobs" in 2008. My husband was in management for a rent-to-own company, and I was an English teacher. We would work during the summer seasons then come back to Louisiana. We used to stay the winters with my dad. After staying home to take care of him (diagnosed with terminal disease March 2012) last year and this year we are looking forward to work camping again in 2014. Since we sold our home we decided to order a new DRV Elite Suites (we currently own a 2009 Forest River Cardinal). We should take ownership first part of November. We will tour the facility September 18. We are looking forward to reading about, learning from, and sharing our experiences from everyone!
I recognized your username as one over on SOITC's forum, so I am happy to welcome you here to the RV Dreams forums. As you can see in our signature, we have a 2010 Mobile Suites and are currently living in Oklahoma City. Over on SOITC, we are known by the username of millerjnt.
As you've been a workkamper and an owner of a previous camper, I can presume that you won't be asking too many questions about what to get in an RV, but if you have questions about the overall RV lifestyle for full-timers, this is a good site to be a part of. The folks here are very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and encouraging. So, if you have questions, feel free to ask away.
By the way, I'm presuming that with an expected date of delivery in November that you have already ordered your Elite Suites. If so, which model are you getting?
Terry

Welcome I'm also a recent member on this forum. We d'ont have an RV yet but it should happen soon. I'm wondering you were speaking french with those name because I'm from Quebec, Canada. Louisiana is one of my favorite state in US so far. Three years ago I've shipped my motorcycle to N.O and flew there, I came back with the bike and crossed 10 states What a ride. I've made some friend's and appear on the TV Show L.A Rider. Louisiana will be one of my destination for sure. Good luck in your new adventure.

We recognize you from the Suite forum as well. We have indeed ordered our unit. We chose the 41RSSB4 Elite Suites. We are touring the factory September 18 before our unit leaves for paint. We did have several questions before final orders were confirmed, and folks on the Suite forum was wonderfully helpful! We look forward to chatting with numerous folks on this site while becoming familiar with the full-timing lifestyle.

Sounds like you had an awesome adventure, and Louisiana is definitely a place to visit - preferably in the fall/winter. It will always be home, but I enjoy seeing the country. We work camped in Maine 2011 and did get to Canada once. We would love to go back and spend more time!
Good morning all!
We leave in the morning going to Howe, IN to tour the DRV factory. We are so excited and can hardly wait for our Wednesday AM tour. We will get to see our Elite before it goes to paint. We should be able to take ownership of our unit the first part of November. We'll let everyone know how our trip goes.
