Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

amazon

We worked at the Coffeyville location during the 2009 season, here is our full write-up about the experience:

www.technomadia.com/2010/02/workamping-at-amazon-com-was-it-worth-it/

Just note, we did it before there was an official Camperforce program and Amazon seems to change things up every year as they continue to evolve their systems.

Enjoy.. we had a lot of fun doing it, but yup - lots of sore muscles!

- Cherie

Is anyone going to be working for Amazon this year? If so which one and have you worked for Amazon before?   We are going to be at the one in Coffeyville KS and this will be the first time working for Amazon.  Just want a little insight as to what we should expect.

Thanks for your help.

I worked the last 2 seasons in Coffeyville for Amazon.  I didn't mind it, although there is not much to do in town.  There is a Combine Demolition Derby in a town not far away that was sort of fun.

Do you know which park you are staying in?

We will be staying at the Big Chief across the road from Amazon.  What job did you do there the last 2 years?

I'm in relatively good shape, so not too many sore muscles. The first year I ended up in Crisplant -- mostly Single Toys. That's where you pack the orders to ship. The 2nd year was in Picking. Personally I prefer picking but some others like Crisplant better as there was a lot less walking. I liked all the walking in Picking and it was really sort of peaceful in a weird way.

We worked in Coffeyville as stowers and packers in Crisplant. The days are long and the work is tedious and mind numbing. Nothing was physically very hard. You are on your feet all day long but you get used to it the first week. It is only 10 -12 weeks and it goes by fairly fast. When we left we vowed to never go back......but we are going back this year. Dollars rule.

We've been working at Amazon in Kansas since late April and expect to leave late October. I work in crisplant and DW is picking. Worked here in '09 also. Amazon had such a big backlog this spring they decided to hire a few workampers to help get the orders out the door. We are staying at River Crest/Walter Johnson RV Park. Lots of folks out at Buckeye RV and a few at Big Chief. The big difference this summer is it's not as chaotic as during peak, but, those spring storms were scary. Very soggy here lately, lots of rain.
