Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are thinking of Howard and Linda as they go through some trying times. Praying for Howard to get well quickly and be able to hit the road again. And for Linda, because health issues are always ...just plain scary. You guys are like family, and just remember, we are with you.

I feel like I'm missing something. I realized that Howard hadn't updated their journal for almost a week but I didn't know he was having health problems. Could somebody please post some info?
I am getting this second-hand from a friend and fellow Dreamer. She said Linda posted this on Facebook a couple of hours ago. I am not on Facebook. Who else is?
Well Howard is in the hospital. We were in the ER all afternoon having tests run. He is having trouble breathing, among other things. After numerous tests, they determined he has some small blood clots in his lungs. He will be in the hospital for several days to have blood thinning medicine administered.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you Howard and Linda! Many prayers already sent up! Take care and please keep us posted. As previously mentioned, WE ARE FAMILY!!!

I also don't do Facebook, so anyone that can post something here that they read on Facebook would be doing all of us a big favor. However, lets be careful to not duplicate something that others have already posted.
As with everyone else, Jo and I are praying for him as well.
Prayers that Howard and Linda both are blessed with courage and strength and the medical personnel are blessed with wisdom and skill.
We're with the two of you, at least in spirit.
Terry

Hi Everyone! Thank you so much for the well wishes!
It is true, Howard was admitted to the hospital this afternoon. After a battery of tests, they diagnosed Pulmonary Embolism. He is doing okay and we are together in hospital each with our own bed. We are not sure how long he will have to be here. We'll keep you posted. As I am typing this, he is writing a journal entry to explain.
So sorry that you're having health issues, Howard! From your updates, it sounds like you're getting good care. I hope they have you outta there in no time!
As always, our thoughts and prayers are with you, Howard.
Take care,
Jim and Linda

Howard and Linda, we are thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery. It sounds like you are getting the best of care and attention there in the small hospital. The hospital and staff sound like what/where I would want to be if faced with the same scenario( wow! Linda, your own bed!) Looks like "somebody up there" is taking good care of you. And your family here @ the Forum is praying for you both. Pat and Charlie K

Patrick and I are praying for your speedy recovery. I know that being in the hospital and testing is a frightening process but once they find out what is wrong, they can get started on fixing the problem. Then everything will look brighter. Our prayers will continue for you until you are on the road again.
Thanks so much for your thoughts, prayers, kind wishes, and humor.
I feel surprisingly good for having such "serious" issues. I posted this update a little earlier - Sunday around 9:00 a.m.
Morning update. Vital signs are all excellent. Had a little bit of a setback yesterday afternoon as I had a fever. They took chest X-rays, and became more serious about treating both my pulmonary embolism and pneumonia. Sheesh.
I feel great other than lack of air from my lungs, but now I have two I.V.s (one with blood thinner, one with anti-biotics), have to do breathing treatments every hour, and have to use a nebulizer every four hours. I have zero pain and can walk around at will (with I.V. in tow).
This morning, no fever and none for the last 18 hours. The Doc says we're moving in the right direction. He says I look healthier than anyone he's ever seen with the problems I have. We'll be monitoring fever and as long as that stays in check, I should be out of here on Tuesday after the blood thinner has stabilized.
You look great Howard! Thank goodness for your active lifestyle, which has to have been in the plus column. Glad you and Linda are keeping us informed, we're all pulling for you. God bless. Pat & Charlie K

We're really glad that things are improving, Howard. From the looks of things though, you look a little bored. But, whatever you do, take care of yourself.
Oh, and I'll also chime in with thanks for those that post photos for us Facebook "avoiders."

They just took him off all IV's. The plan is to leave "camp" McKenzie tomorrow morning!!!!
Thanks everyone! Whew!
That's wonderful news! I know from experience that being in a hospital is no fun and boredom is par for the course. I'm so glad they could put you up, but I hope it wasn't one of those chairs that supposedly open up into a bed. I did that a few times when Robyn was hospitalized in Augusta, and each time the next morning I could barely move because the thing was so uncomfortable, but I know the devotion and love it takes to put up with that. One of my IBM colleagues gave me all her Hilton Honors points (God bless her) so I was finally able to stay in hotels/motels.
