Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Sherry:

Hope you and Jesse can make the trip to Alaska someday.  Diana and Steve’s pix of Miles Canyon, Whitehorse, YT, on the last post reminded me how much we’re looking forward to going back to Alaska and Canada next year.  The water is really that color in the pictures they posted.  Alaska is such a fabulous trip and quite doable by anyone who has just the least bit adventuresome spirit.

Steve & Diane,

Your blog is amazing and the pictures incredible. Thanks for taking us along with you.

Bill & Linda, we've talked about it and adding your recommendation to others beside S & D we will have to try it. I worry about breakdowns so might try a caravan and we have a ways to go before we are set up for boon docking. It would have to be 2015 before we could do it. Next year is back east to visit kids.

While perhaps desirable, a lot of boonddocking capability is not required to do Alaska.  You may want it for various reasons, but there is almost always 15 amps at most, but not all, commercial campgrounds.  Sometimes “power hours” are limited, but you can still get by nicely without a big battery bank or solar.  Just FYI

Thanks for the comments everyone. Our blog has been hit and miss with the lack of Internet.
Sherry I would really think hard about a caravan. You are on somebody else's schedule and destination route. There is sooo much to see and do on this trip. Our interests are all different so you may want to stay longer or leave earlier. I guess it's what ever your comfort zone is.
