Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I have arranged with Howard & Linda to provide a discount on our 2014 spring Mexican Caravan. This is a 2 month + caravan down the west coast of Mexico as far as Guadalajara and the Puerto Vallarta area. It also includes a 4 day all inclusive tour to Copper canyon with all expenses covered (train, hotels, food, entertainment). The trip includes all RV park fees and plenty of tours. It is designed to provide 4 stays of at least one week at various destinations so you are not just on the road all the time. (beaches & hotsprings) It also includes the Mazatlan carnival & Tequila. It leaves Nogales on Jan 7th although I will escort anyone who can be there by Jan 2nd down as far as San Carlos a few days earlier. This tour cost less than a 30 day tour offered by the main other company for the same thing, but further. This is because the company happens to arrange the tours for the other companies, so a middle man is eliminated, plus its year one for this route so it is priced lower. Anyone who sees this here and lets us know that when they sign up will get a discount. Advertising starts in 2 RV magazines in the US in July, along with a series of articles on the subject by myself in RV life. If you are squeamish about RVing in Mexico, and I do not blame you with all the publicity, this is a safe way to do it. It is a great way to snowbird on the beach instead of in the desert. Anyway if it interests you click the banner on this site at http://www.rv-dreams.com/caravan.html
Filling out the form does not obligate you, I personally phone everyone first to ensure they have all the info & feel comfortable. I have wintered out in Mexico for 6 seasons now. The first time scared the life out of me as I was very apprehensive. Getting over the fear factor and learning how to handle the paperwork is one reason I recommend a caravan for first timers. I am pretty sure 75% of those will ventuer on their own in future years once they see what Mexico has to offer for snowbird RVers. I am never ceased to be amazed at how people offer to help. I can't pull over to the side of the road without someone stopping & asking if I need help and I hear the same thing all the time from others. I have seen a lot of RV parks suffer from the bad publicity and many of them have become personal friends, so when I was approached by Caravanas de Mexico to try and get an English speaking caravan (their main experience has been facilitating French speaking ones from Quebec), I saw it as an opportunity to help a lot of the parks out. One of the participants on this caravan was born in Mexico and has agreed to give on-trip Spanish lessons. We are looking at one of 2 experienced wagon masters, a couple from Arkansas or another American couple who live in Baja.

Yes, its $5800 for 64 days (2 people), without any discounts. A 30 day trip by the competitor is about $6100 same route & tours but it only goes about 1/2 the distance. There is a comparison chart on the website www.mexicorvbuddies.com. Not everyone has 64 days to spare so it is really different market.
For those who just want to try find others to travel with ad hoc, I have a free site at www.mexicotravelbuddies.com.
That works well for those who want company to get past the dicier border areas. Anyone who want to try it on their own are welcome to contact me and I will provide what info I can.

At the bottom of the page that the link takes one to is an "advertisement" for a caravan trip that seems to have the same start date and is two months long. I didn't check it out really close, but it looks like it might be related to the mentioned tour.
There is a price listed when you follow that linked "advertisement."
