Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Belknap Hot Springs Resort and RV Park (about 45 minutesSE of Eugene, OR

We wanted to share this campground with our friends on this forum. While its not an "it" spot as in Howard & Linda, it's been a delightful place for us to regroup.

It's on Highway 126 just slightly N. of a little town called Rainbo W and tSW of Eugene.  We noticed quite a few RV Parks and Resortbe just between here and Rainbow, and at least one state park.

It's hard to describe as I would call it all "cattywhompus" in that sites (to us) are designed backwards, only one person working the desk covering phones, resort check-ins and outs, RV check-ins, and a gift shop. When she was on the phone with a customer the other phone would ring and ring. ( I so wanted to answer it and ask if you could please hold) We thought there was FHU here but were told to just pick a spot and come back and let her know.  When you drive in there is no dedicated RV parking for check in so if you're long like we are and it's a busy Sunday we blocked traffic and had to do a complete circle to be able to access the poorly marked road leading to sites which was sort of behind the check in location. We have electric and water at our site but there is a dump station about a mile down the road at a sister campground, called Yale Camp. We did tour Yale Camp to be sure we would fit in there when we check out tomorrow and its fine for dumping but exceedingly rustic for RVers plus heavy equipment in there is doing something with (adding or removing) huge concrete pillars.

All that said the check-in lady was a gracious former school teacher. The mineral hot pools are awesome, there is incredible landscaping and trails and are a Secret Garden and Asian gardens and ponds and old cabins and lawns and its so peaceful to stroll back there across the river. Truly I've never seen so many beautiful gardens & plantings including in our RV parking area outside of SoCal gardens around mansions or in other formal gardens. The resort is right on the McKenzie River and because we were here when it wasn't very busy, we felt the RVPark was quiet. You should knit's he RV parking is combined witcaeca in band cottage rentals and tent sites but it all sort of works.  It's clean and well maintained but most of the staff seem to be new hires for the summer and not too knowledgeable.

We went white water rafting, picked up yesterday right at the resort, and it was a fabulous almost 3 hour river run with Class 3 falls at this time of year. I should also mention that one of the mineral Hot spring pools is right up here next to RV Parking so it was perfect after the wet river run.

We've heard this is beautiful in the winter also with the hot mineral pools and snow falling.

It all sounds like a strange combination but we highly recommend it if you're coming thru here in the shoulder seasons (mid-June a shoulder season in Oregon?) and maybe it's not crowded in the summer but our granddaughter in WA is graduating this weekend so we are guessing families travel later in the summer Like July and August In the PNW. Wonderful weather and peaceful and quiet for our stay In mid-June.

Sherry

This sounds just like what you need to be doing. Enjoying yourselves exploring the area and soaking in that natural hot tub!!! I can imagine it was quite wet their earlier in the Spring Season and that is why the construction is going on now before their real season get started and the crowd of reveler campers start their vacationing. Enjoy and when the timing is right you will find the right fit for your work camping job. Pieere

Sherry - you are definitely in the early season, school will be letting out in WA/OR in the next 2 weeks so you timed your visit there perfectly before they get busy. Sounds like a great place to visit, maybe one we need to consider next spring as we come back to WA for June/July. Right now it's looking doubtful that we're going to visit OR this year, something about a trip to SD before we head to CA for our fall art shows. Was hoping to visit you in Crater Lake but unless something changes that may not happen this summer. I think this might be the first calendar year since we moved to WA from TX 11.5 years ago that our travels have not taken us through OR.

Sherry- we'll still be in the Seattle area through the end of the month, then Whidbey Island, the Olympic Peninsula and then Richland WA by the end of July. Then we begin our trek east to SD, through August, then onto CA.

I hadn't realized you left Crater Lake and the workcamping job, do you mean Camas Washington? Or is there a Camas Wicsonsin which I think would be Camas WI? Are you in Camas WA, near Vancouver, WA???
