Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
if it is in good shape and it is in your price range....I would go for it , but at that age I would look at the tires date stamps and prepare to replace all of them...I also would look at suspension ball joints king pins and all.
the hot water heater if it is original stands a good chance of being pitted and rusting from the inside so be carful......there are newer coaches in nice shape for 6 to 10k that are 20 years newer...so keep that in mind
I am thinking about going Full Time I have never Rv'ed or civilian camped before. but with the limited income from disability it seems the only wise choice. I am single with Adult kids and a brother and sister out in Cal I figure i can winter down their and summer up in Wis way. I spent most of my working life in the entertainment field by that I meen restaurants i have done every conceivable job in that industry. And now it has taken it's toll on me so I am going to enjoy what time the lord has left of me and see what this land has to offer.
There are several of us that get by on disability or SSI.......its not a bad thing and your right you can stretch a dollar out here alot farther than you can in a stick & brick!!
I boondock pretty much full time with 2 days a month at a pay campsite for water and flushing the holding tanks...
I keep a strict budget and have a little sidework at fleamarkets and such that makes it nice.
there are some really good deals out here on coaches whether you want to drive it or pull it...it can be had!!!
hope to see you out here , dont be afraid to ask for help with your questions , there are some really great people out here and they all treat you like family!!

Thank You Lucky If I may call You that. I am not sure what to look for I was thinking of a class A motor home i have several in mind the one I am leaning towards is a 77 sportcoach the reason I am leaning to that one is because it has had only 1 owner with 56k miles and a few of the amenities are 100 gal gas tank, 100 gal fresh water, 2 hot water tanks, 100 gal waste tank (50/50) and 104 lb lp tank. I think that i can be out a pretty long time with out having to go to a pay campsite every couple of weeks to get water and flush. it also has a 440 and a 5000 kwt gen with only 300 hrs on it.
