Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Finally, after all the painting, cleaning, purging (still some more of that to do), repairs, etc, etc. our house will finally be on the market tomorrow. Today we need to finish organizing the garage and hopefully the rain will stop so we can mow the yard. Our agent thinks the house will sell pretty quickly as there is a very low inventory of homes that are not short sales or distressed in our area right now. Hoping he's right
Today is also moving day as we move our 5th wheel across the street to a neighbor's extra lot who was kind enough to offer us the spot without us even asking. He just assumed our real estate agent wouldn't want it taking up 2/3rds of the driveway while the house was on the market. We've been living in the 5th wheel on our driveway for a few days, everything is starting to settle in, we've rearranged a few things and I'm sure we'll have much more rearranging to do and probably more purging to do as well, I'm sure we have too much stuff in the closets!!
It's been a long 5 months getting to this point and we are so looking forward to selling this place and having some free time again. Not sure what we'll do with all that free time, but I'm sure it will be something a lot more fun than painting, caulking, etc.
Thanks to all of you who have been supportive and encouraging on this journey!!!
The article that I read said this year would be the best one that the housing market has seen in 10 years. I tend to believe that offering those rebates caused people that would normally have waited a few years to go ahead and buy and then we had a rather dead few years in the housing market so this would make sense. So, how exciting for you and good luck with the sale of your house.
Congrats on the house ready for sale. Not to burst your bubble, but take a short trip and go cross some scales and get weighed........ it will help you purge and reduce more
You know our first great offer house sale contract fell thru last Friday, we hired a different agent and we just signed off on an even better offer than the first (plus $15,000) this am. Way, way over comps and realtor was pushing us to accept lower offer because of comps, but we told him the house is worth what a buyer is willing to pay for it so we held firm. Just FYI, don't know the market in your area but our buyer was from Wasington state.
Best of luck on a quick and successful sale!
Sherry
Your buyer wanted to get away from the rain in Western Washington.

OK, haven't been online this weekend much due to Dale participating in the Folklife Festival, long hours, and way tooooo much rain, never fun to spend 4 days shivering in our art booth. Bill Joyce, please don't scare off the home buyers from Western WA!!! We really want our house to sell, signing up for shows in warmer climates for the fall. Our agent held 2 open houses this weekend, both times the driveway was packed and our street looked like a traffic jam. I'm sure our neighbors in our quiet, dead end neighborhood will be happy to see us gone!
Well, Ruth. Now you've gone and done it. You are on the brink of being "house-less." Jo and I are happy for you, especially since it took us 3 years to get ours sold.
Things are definitely looking up.

5 offers, we countered on one, they countered back, negotiations ongoing!!! All offers were anywhere from 8K to 12K over asking price!! 2 with a June 28th closing date which is more enticing to us.
So looking forward to being houseless but not homeless.
Congratulations!! I sure hope the sale of our small ranch goes well! Please continue to post on how things go as you start your journey. This is great learing stuff for me!
Thanks everyone, so nice to know that we'll be sleeping soundly tonight!!! One big burden has been lifted. Off to our house on wheels that is still parked on the neighbor's lot. It's been raining so hard that we're going to have to wait for it to dry out a bit before we tow it up the muddy driveway back to our driveway to finalize packing. Next step is to get it weighed so we can figure out what else needs to be purged. Thanks for all the encouragement, support, etc. You guys are wonderful!!!
Congratulations!! So happy to hear you sold so fast and gat above your asking price!! Hope some of that luck rubs off on everyone else on this forum that have homes for sale.

In this area (Puget Sound) it is now a seller's market, plus we had a real estate agent who while somewhat new to Real Estate has 33 years of marketing experience and it's paying off. An agent who lives in our neighborhood stopped by during the open house and told him he was obviously doing something right!!! Whoo Hooo, 5th wheel will be moved back to our driveway this weekend so we can finish packing!! Can't wait to be non-homeowners.
Sherry - we'll see what we can do in Aug to stop by, we need to get to Greg's AM Solar for some work, will let you know.
Dale & Ruth, We want to try and work in AM Solar as well, but first to Junction City to get warranty work done this week. Hope you're dried out and packing!
Can't wait to see some of our Dreamer Groupies on the road!

Congratulations on your "dream" coming true....now you are well on your way to the next chapter in your life and as my wife says no need to look back or re-read the previous chapter, you already know what happens so just keep moving forward to the next page! We have not looked back and don't regret one second!
The best feeling will be when you wake up on June 29th and realize nothing will ever be the same!
