Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
There are still a ton of ways for the deal to go south but i am so ready to be looking at new rigs.
we have an F350 one ton diesel dually which is rated for 13500 lbs and i hope i can find a fifth wheel we'll find big enough to live comfortably in and yet be around 30ft--and with a few slides, for sure.
we'd love a front living room, rear bedroom and winter package.
would love some leads on ones which might suit. we'll be ready to buy in july and have a budget of 25 thousand.
Shows how little I know about trucks but I would have guessed yours was rated for more? I found RVTrader.com a good site to research used rig pricing. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Sherry

oh that's a great site--discovered the forward kitchen plan which is also a good one for us. now to keep looking=--hope we can find what we need on the east coast, don't feel like driving to indianna or texas this summer!
Congrats on having the legendary 7.3! That's what we wanted when we intially set out on the truck hunt, but we ended up with the infamous 6.0. With some money invested, she's bulletproof now. On to the camper part.....
Honestly, that's not a lot of money to work with if you are serious about a well-insulated RV. Insulation has been a primary factor in my two years of researching RVs, and I can tell you that what started out as me wanting to only spend $21,000 tops has now escalated to $40,000. Now, that's for a toy hauler vs. a regular fifth wheel. Toy haulers are simply more expensive, period.
It certainly can be done at that price, but it would be the exception rather than the norm. Look for a 2010 or newer Keystone, and make sure it does in fact have the upgraded insulation. Carriage offered upgraded insulation from, I believe, 2008 and up, however, I read on the Carriage owners' forum that they did not insulate their slide outs. That was a deal breaker for me. The Dutchmen Komfort offered upgraded insulation as well as the Forest River Denali. There are more, you just have to research. Good luck!
