Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
almost all parks and campgrounds use analog or digital analog meters. most parks that you pay monthly electric it is payed directly to the park and they inturn tack there service charge to it and write you the bill.
As far as smart meters, the RFI out put is no greater than the cell phone you put to your ear, or the leakage at the microwave you use each day.
the inverter in you coach puts out RFI......the cash register in the store.....your laptop......led lighting, The list goes on an on
The big run on the west coast started when some one said something that sounded good.......and all the sheep lined up to follow
If we disconnected all modern conveniences power and all and restored mother earth to her natural state.......RFI and RFW would still exist.. Radio frequency waves are a natural accurrance. in fact Life itself functions on this type of energy.....your heart would not function without the electrical impulse generated by the RFI your body produces and the brain would not be able to communicate without those impulses either
(I think I spent way to much time in School)

We've been on a smart meter now for about 1 3/4 years with absolutely no problems. In fact, it is nice to receive a weekly e-mail informing us of our useage and comparing it to "efficient" and "average" usage. (We are always higher since we live in an RV instead of a regular home.)
With regards to George's (Racerguy) comment, there is a whole world of conspiracy theorists out there that see evil in all things. Of course, we also live in a state (Oklahoma) where "officials" would never consider doing what the conspiracy folks would be afraid they would do. Oh, and with regards to some of the instructions in the link above to those in opposition in California, trying to stop the installation of those meters just landed two ladies in jail. I think that was in Illinois, but I'm not sure. I wonder how those two ladies will appreciate now having a "record?"

There's a lot of controversy these days about smart meters and I am wondering, if the place where you are parked and plugged into has smart meters, is there any thing you might do to block it? RV's are 1/2 DC and not even on shore AC, so I'm thinking, the evil of smart meters might be diminished, but do any of you electrical geniuses have any ideas about some device that might be put between you and the meter?
The smart meter controversy is more junk science created by people with an agenda just like another topic I won't mention for fear of it becoming political.
