Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Go here only if you want to swim in a lake that has been condemed by the health department; This is a C.O.E. lake and the campground is operated by the C.O.E; The C.O.E. allow swimming in the lake, they even developed a parking area with pick nick benches. There is a small town upstream that feeds this lake that pipes their sewage straight to the creek that feeds the lake. I was camping there last summer visiting relatives; I saw what looked like human feces flooting on the lake surface.
This is a small campground near Saltsburgh Pa there are only 12 electric sites and 20 tent sites in this campground.
This park gets very noisy on the weekends; it's a weekend party park for the drunkin locals don't ask me how I no
This C.o.e park was closed earlier this summer and redone by the c.o e. to take care of alot of its problems........it is a local hangout on the weekends for the people in that area for camping and partying according to the local Blog...

We are not lost in the Woods.....Just Extreme boondocking!!!!!!
I am a local to this place, it isnt as bad as your making it sound. Yes, I agree it could use some work, but the lake isnt that bad. It is a very shallow flood control lake, so there is going to be some debris floating due to the varying water levels. I have boated and fished this lake for a few years now and have never seen human waste, thats a bit extreme. The camp hosts can be a bit grumpy at times depending on which ones are there. There is a nice playground for kids, vollyball, and horseshoes. I was there last memorial day for the big storm when they closed down. The hosts that were there,(Oscar and Beth) were very friendly and helpful, when I was there in August the hosts were not as friendly, but we had no issues with them. The hosts distribute a small gift bag to the kids with safety info, a beach ball or frisbee and coloring sheets etc. There is an ampitheatre there that I have never seen used, not sure if I missed it or if it isnt used anymore. As far as the local drunks....this is a COE campground there is no alcohol allowed; however with that being said if you have a beer or drink, say in a coozee, nobody will give you problems unless you are causing a disturbance to someone else. The bath house has always been clean when I've been there and I generally have no complaints about this place. Last Memorial day it was completely full (before the storm) and I think it was the only time I ever heard of anybody being noisy and disturbing (alcohol related, imagine that) they were ejected and the weekend went on. The sites arent level, I will admit to that, but hello...we're in PA!
Tread very lightly if Mc A Fee; a ranger is on duty; this guy will pat you on the back with one hand and ----------- I had two wheels of my pickup on the grass because there wasn't room beside my motorhome without parking this way. He wanted me to park down by the boat launch area; when I said I couldn't because (1) my wife is %100 disabled and can't walk that far; (2) I"m 81 and I"m not sure I could go that far; when I tried to explane this to him he said; I Quote: makes no difference to me that your wifes disabled and your old, park down there or: I"ll confiscate your motorhome I"ll call the police and have you arrested I"ll give you a citation I"ll have you banned from all C.O.E. parks
As to the brown trout. believe me; I"ve camped at Loyalhanna for many years and they are there, If you live near loyalhanna lake you must know that theres a small village upstream that dumps their raw sewage straight into the creek that feeds loyalhanna lake. have a nice day and enjoy your camping trips. I"ve made my last camping trip to loyalhanna campground.
Melvonnar: You could best believe i would have got his name and turned him in to the COE's main office. I believe that would have solved the problem for you and others. This was not only rude but very abusive to senior citizens.

I did just that: I couldn't get a straight answer from either the main office or the Pittsburgh main office; they both danced around the answers they gave me but never went straight to the problem, They quoted C.O,E rules: One of the C.O.E.rules was that there may be an enviremental impact my truck may have; when I asked both the Pittsburgh office and the main dam office to explain to me what enviremintal impact my truck my truck would have on the campsite;------that was three months ago-----I"m still waiting for an answer. I"ve camped at loyalhanna campground for nearly 40 years; back when there was no campsites, just pull in the field an pich a tent. I will never camp there again; I wrote a letter to the office and asked if Mc a Fee was still there and they said he was.
