Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Auto Edit or Mediator Edit

"If so, I wouldn't  trust the tires based on the construction of the bikes.....It was weird the jig they used for the handlebars must be out of whack. Every handlebar was ****eyed, one side was lower than the other."

On another thread I posted the above in answer to the thread.  I went back later and noticed that one of the words I chose to use was edited (****eyed).  I was wondering if these forum software system have gotten so sophisticated that they automatically bleep out certain words or does the moderator have to do the bleeping.  Here's the definition for the word I used:

****·eyed  (kobreve.gifkprime.gifimacr.gifdlprime.gif)

adj. Informal
1. Foolish; ridiculous; absurd: a ****eyed idea.
2. Askew; crooked.
3. Intoxicated; drunk.

It's not a bad word and is also used as a medical term.

Anyway just thought it's funny especially if an automated edit function bleeped it.  Now I have to find a reason to use pussy willows in one of my posts to see what happens.

By the way before anyone gets upset here's the definition of pussy willow:
puss·y willow  (poobreve.gifsprime.gifemacr.gif)
n.
1. A deciduous North American shrub or small tree (Salix discolor) having large silky catkins.
2. Any of several willows similar to this plant.no

P.S.-  Well that answered my question....it's the auto edit function.  As soon as I submitted the above post it changed my word from coc keyed to ****eyed.   And yet pussy willow was OK ?  Is this a feminist thing ???...LOL wink

LIkely a software issue.  One of us moderators would have used a 2x4 on you instead.

(Just kidding.)

I've noticed that edit a number of times and always wondered whether the poster was the one that was using asterisks instead.  Now I know.

Do you suppose there is a tiny George Carlin in the software watching for the "7 words you can never say on a forum"? Reminds me of Brad Paisley's "Politically Correct Holiday" song. What a hoot. Merry ******mas everyone!

ROFLOL X2  Years ago on another forum I was trying to tell a person a type of cutting plier to use and a particular type of punch for a quick technique, dang near got thrown off the forum got it. They felt it was a gender and a sexist remark of which absolutly floored me at the time. In my reply I asked them how can I explane a B file. they then seen my point LOL

Its a strange world, IMPO morals are going down and sensitivity is going up...Owell thats just a Personal openion.
