Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Color & Font size issue...

Well. I may as well get this over with right now.

I have a penchant toward submitting my posts in color, italic, and 'this size' Comic San font text. - 'Larger/smaller size' in some cases. - 'UPPER CASE' in other cases.

If there is an objection to this here, I may as well know and go now.

In the last RV forum, - I had just recently joined - a member said that I was being an exhibitionist. - And I received an oppressive pm from the administrator stating that there was unspecific generalizations governing colored text, large/small sized text, and the amount of smilies permitted in a post.

I told him to delete my account. - And that was that.

I do not want to feel unappreciated in going-the-extra-mile in self expression in my posts, or feel oppressed or intimidated toward my simple harmless friendly style, or I will feel sad, and not want to post  at all.

Sooo. Are there objections to such-as personal self expression here?

Not my call but personally I find it very hard to read and would probably just skip over posts like that, but that is me and I wouldn't let it stop you if Howard or Terry tell you it's ok.

I have a relative that sends us emails with lots of different fonts and charactors in the body of the text. And like Racerguy mentioned above I won't read them. It is up to Howard or Terry and one of them will chime in before long and let you know if you're good to go.

Millie,

No problems here with the use of color but as others have said it can be a difficult to read especially at the end of the day when my eyes are tired. disbelief

Welcome, Millie.

As a moderator, I can probably safely say that it is not a problem with your choice of font and color with regards to any rules.  However, something to consider that I encountered years ago when I was creating PowerPoint presentations for our church.  I was approached one day and was asked if there was any text on a particular slide.  When I answered that there was, I was then asked what color it was.  Come to find out, that person couldn't read it because they were color blind in that color and thus couldn't even see it.

That is when I began to pay attention to fonts as well because some of our older ladies couldn't make out italicized and "special" fonts.  I got to where I pretty much used Arial all the time so that everyone would be able to read the messages.

Like some of the others, the color is a bit difficult for me to read.  Also, while there is no rule for capital letters, there are occasions where some are disturbed by them since capital letters online generally tend to indicate "shouting."  I do capitalize the occasional word or phrase that I really want folks to notice, especially if it is a cautionary comment.

Otherwise, welcome to the RV Dreams forums.  We look forward to any comments and questions that you may have as long as they kind of follow Mike's comments about what is generally not approved.  Glad to have you as part of the family.

Terry

If you want answers to your questions make the posts easily readable, since many skip over posts using interesting fonts and colors. It takes more concentration and effort to read such posts and comprehend the words, which is not worth it to many who come here even if they would be a good person to answer your question.

Not a problem so far.  But, could you make it a couple of shades darker....the eyes aren't as sharp as they used to be!

Me and racerguy. If it is hard to read and some awful color, I just skip over them.
