Electric grill?

We have multiple friends who use their George Foremans heavily while on the road. We have one that we forget we have until we find it again, so it is not a good match for what we eat. Another friend uses theirs a lot except when they don't have a sewer connection since she is very into clean. For her just wiping it down after use is not enough so it requires a lot of soap and water to fully clean up.

I have one simuliar.......its great durring cold or bad weather other than that its me and theBBQ!!!

We use ours quite a bit. Sometimes firing up the grill for a couple chicken breasts seems a pain. We have the smaller version, the plates are not removable, but it fits in the drawer under our oven.

Thanks everyone! My husband talks about "extra weight", so I just have to figure out if it will be used enough. Also, there's a GE one at Walmart with removable plates and also the George Foreman ones. Over Labor Day weekend I had seen a Cuisinart somewhere that was the same price, but that was only that day, it doubled the next day.

We would not be without ours! Use it so much that I'm thinking about getting rid of my propane BBQ grill. 21st century technology allows me to get a smoked flavor out of a bottle now days. smile

Ahh!!! yes .......another person that uses hickory smoke out of a bottle......eye dropper works best on a single burger.....LOL

Oh NO NO NO!! My ears are bleeding!

I do understand the use of it though in the RV world. Pretty hard to carry a smoker around with you when you're on the road, unless you have a toy hauler!

That's what we're thinking as we get closer to purchasing the RV. Needs and Wants list has begun already and one of the Wants bordering on Need is to take my Big Green Egg along if we go the toy hauler route!

I used a propane grill for the past 20 years. Recently we bought an electric grill from QVC. I no longer carry the propane grill. The electric grill takes less space and works just as well as the gas. Same grill marks and flavors. We also use the foreman grill for cooking indoors in the RV.

Gary, no disrespect but as nice as it is, the Big Green Egg isn't the same as using a combination of pecan and mesquite wood for an 8 hour smoking.

OK. Now I'm confused.....

.....you say you want to take the smoker along, but your signature says you want to be in the "non-smoking" section.

Or, is that a question that I should NOT add to you long list of things to decide????

My apology but, I can't. As a native Texan I have already crossed the line to even mention Liquid Smoke. That may even be a hangin' offense here.

Why not just a small hibachi? It doesn't take up much space and it's plenty big for 2. We have had pit after pit after pit here at home... all just to burn up/rust out sooner rather than later. The hibachi keeps on keeping on. And, when it dies, it's cheap enough to replace!

I'm not full time yet but at home I couldn't live without my George Foreman grill. Of course we prefer a real grill if we are cooking dinner or something but my daughter and I use our GF every day for a quick chicken breast, garlic bread, bacon, grilled asparagus. It is quick, easy and simple clean up. My suggestion is to get a small one at a yard sale or thrift store for a buck or two, that way if you don't use it you won't feel like you wasted your money. The last two I bought I got at yard sales, brand new for $1. Many people buy them and never use them so I never buy them in a store anymore. After they wear out I just get one cheap! I know once we go full time my GF grill will go with me. I don't think it is the same as grilling but it does the trick for many other things. A grilled cheese or panini is great on one as well.
