Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We stayed at Zion Canyon Campground & Quality Inn at Zion Park in a 40 ft motorhome. There are some nice sights, but there are some tight not so nice spots in the park. One of the advantages was the park was right at the entrance to Zion, and walking distance to the shuttle bus into the park. It was also located in Springdale which is a cute little artsie town with shops and restaurants. We chose to stay there over the park campground so we would have full hookups. If you don't mind dry camping, Zion had a couple of nice looking campgrounds in the park.
I look forward to going back again, we had a great time.

If you are a Passport America member, I would highly recommend OK RV Park in Moab. We stayed there in October of 2010. The PA rate at that time was $15.50 a night and there was no limit on how long you could stay at that rate. It was a decent campground and not right on the main road as many of them in Moab are. Here's a link to the review I posted on my blog. http://rvkhroniclesofkevelyn.blogspot.com/p/campground-reviews.html

Watchman campground in Zion has some hookups if you need them. We have stayed at South Campground in Zion, which is dry camping, and enjoyed being in the park. It looks like there are some good commercial campgrounds right outside the entrance of Zion in Springdale, as karen948 indicates. Realize it is a long day trip to Bryce from Zion. Next time we will stay closer to Bryce to see Bryce since we spent about half the day driving back and forth. We have also stayed in Hurricane UT and it was a bit too far to do daily trips into Zion for our taste, we did it to save money. We can also recommend seeing Cedar Breaks National Monument and the Kolob Canyon section of Zion, places many miss.
Moab is a long ways from Bryce and Zion, it is the place to see Arches and the north section of Canyonlands National Parks. But check the current PA rates and restrictions since when we stopped in April neither park on PA had discounts.

We stayed at The Watchman in Zion in May and there are sites that will work for 40' motor homes. The web site gives good descriptions and Pics. The South campground in Zion is very good too. Where you are coming from and where you are going next affects where you stay as well as what hookups you Have to have. If you can do a few days with no hookups, the Nat Forest CG at Red Canyon is near Bryce and will save a few $. There are others on HWY 12 that will work. If you like small historic towns, Panquitch Hitch-N-Post is convenient but not fancy. RVParksReviews should have more in the area listed. Everything in that area is fun to explore. Have fun.
