Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
They replaced my a/c, saying it was messing up my generator. The a/c that was replaced was r-22, kept it very cold. This was not the problem with the generator. They installed a r-410. Generator did the same. New unit does not cool near as good as the last one. NEED ADVICE
Did the A/C problem ruin the generator or the repair shop thought the A/C was bad and was affecting the generator.
If it ruined the generator then you would need to fix the A/C and generator.
If the bad A/C was causing the generator to act up, fixing the A/C should have solved the generator acting up.
It sounds like the repair shop made the wrong choice for the repair or your generator is also bad.
If the mechanic/repair shop is reputable you may be able to negotiate with them to get the generator fixed at a reduced rate since the A/C wasn't the problem.
Most states have a department you can contact if you feel you have been mistreated by a repair shop.

This is what has been done to the Generac Generator, Several rocker arm replacements, same one, starter, finally it was determined that the head was bad, causing the valve to stick, resulting in a bent rocker arm. This head and valve and rocker arm replaced and been working great for 14 hours. A/c still not as sufficient. I will contact the Department in North Carolina after, i have it checked out by a independent contractor.
