Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are planning our trip from Indianapolis IN to the fall RV Dreams rally in Harrisburg OR. This will be our first time traveling through the Rocky Mountains puling a 5th wheel, so we are a little apprehensive about it. We want to take a route that is not to challenging the first time. We are not planning to sight see to much on this trip as we only have 16 days to make the trip.
Our plan so far is to take I74 to I80 to I84 to US 20 in Oregon.
Any suggestions would be very helpful.
Thanks: Mark and Patty

Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.
Been through that way ourselves a couple times. Don't remember any real difficult grades or mountain passes.
Don't know what kind of RV you have, but if you take your time in the mountains, you should be fine.

Have done most of the I-84 and US 20 portions you are planning, nothing too difficult just pay attention to the signs for sharps curves and you'll be fine.
A couple tips, the Utah state park north of Salt Lake, Willard Bay was a wonderful place to stop enroute. Also, seriously consider a side trip to Crater Lake on your way to or from Harrisburg, well worth the detour.
Oregon has some great state parks near Bend and Sisters that would be great places to stop enroute, both of those towns have lots of interesting sites and shopping. If you are interested in geology the lava tubes near Bend are fascinating. If you are a microbrew fan, the Descheutes brewery is located in Bend, my hubby enjoys the variety they offer.
As you go through Boise, Sierra Nevada Trading post has an outlet store, we always find something there that we just have to have and they have a huge parking lot with a grocery store next door so big rigs are not an issue!
