Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Sorry. Didn't mean to start out like an AA meeting. Our 'plans' are to start fulltiming in the summer of 15. I found this website when I Googled "Ten best fifth wheel RV's". Since then, this site has been like a good book...hard to put down.
Our camping experience so far has been limited to a 25' Mallard TT (no slides). However, we did live in it for 14 months while we remodeled a house. Our 'plans' are to buy a good one or two year old truck and 5th wheel. I have gleaned tons of useful information from this site already. Especially the topic titled "So we've decided to be full-timers...now what". Or words to that effect. "Are we nuts?" and "Will this ever really be home?" were great reading.
We just bought a new house in November and were able to get rid of a lot of stuff. We are now planning the big transition a little better since reading the posts on this site.
Allow me to welcome our "Eastern" neighbors. Jo and I live in Oklahoma City. As you've already seen, the forums are full of knowledgable people. However, don't limit your time to the forums.
Check out Howard and Linda's journal, especially the parts where they wrote about their transition. Also look at the "Site Map" link on the home page and that will itemize a lot of relative information about electrical and other issues related to systems within an RV.
Feel free to ask questions as we all tend to learn from each other and each new poster has the potential of bringing a new perspective to an already-discussed topic.
Since you've been RV'ing some in a travel trailer, you should also be able to help others that are considering that option.
Welcome to the "family."
Terry

Welcome! Love your humor :) We found out so much about this lifestyle, first by reading all of Howard & Linda's journals, attending 2 rallys, and reading other dreamers blogs. There is so much to learn! Good luck with your journey :)
Well, I used a search engine for FOBW and it came up with three different meanings. In each case the first two letters stand for "Friend of" and the "B" and "W" had three different meanings.
So, my guess would be is that "Road to Happy Destiny" may think they are mutual friends with one of the previous posters.
Then again, maybe it's "Fall Off Board Walk?"
Maybe they will return and grace us with something sensible to it.
Terry
